TESTIMONY OF MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCACY

Mental health is not an easy way to deal with especially in this kind of nation where there is a high
stigma between individual who suffers from it. Data shows that there are higher number of
teenagers that experience depression, anxiety and worst thing, suicide.

Mary Claire Isleta, the SK chairperson of Silangang Malicboy Pagbilao, Quezon, along with her SK
members set a seminar on October 16, 2021 regarding anxiety and depression to help the youth
from their barangay in understanding mental health. The undersigned was very lucky to be invited
as one of the speakers to share about the topic.

This kind of remarkable initiative will truly help break the stigma who suffers from anxiety and
depression. The citizens of Silangang Malicboy are indeed lucky to have these kinds of leaders
who value not only the physical attributes of its members, but also their mental states.

Moreover, with the help of Mary Claire Isleta, the SK Federation also donated an alcohol
dispenser to our school. The said dispenser is truly of great help to teachers, students, and
parents that submit outputs and get modules every Friday. This is a proof that the Organization
value holistic health of citizens.
