Materials:

Preparation:
How will I pre-assess what the students already know? How will I activate the students’ prior knowledge?

I will ask the students what imagination means to them. they can either draw or write what it means to
them.
I will ask the student why it is important to use their imagination.

How will I build background knowledge of the subject?

I will take the students outside and let them look at the clouds. I will point out what I see in the sky. For
example if it is a form of a bird, I will ask the students if they can tell me different kinds of birds that they
know.

How will I ‘hook’ the students’ attention?

While we are outside, I will let the students close their eyes and think of anything that makes them happy
(this will help them calm down). When they open their eyes they can look at the clouds and draw the form
that they see. They can also go around picking up leaves or rocks to draw.

How will I assess the students’ learning? How do you know they learned the objective?

I will know if students’ learned by looking at how they share what they learn with their classmates. I will
assess the students’ learning By writing one paragraph.

What will I do if they didn’t learn the objective? How will I reteach?

I will ask them what they need help with. Help them step by step. Show as many examples as I can. Give
them a sentence starter.

What will I do if the students already know the content? How will I extend the lesson?

If students know the content already, I will have them do more research on the subject that we are working
on.

How will I accommodate for special needs? Consider students who need additional support and students that
need additional challenge.

Teacher will be a stand by for students who need help with their drawing, research, and writing their one
paragraph.

How will students interact with others? (e.g., student-to-student, student-to-teacher, student participation)

Students will share their drawing with other students. They will explain and talk about what it is.
Students will also share with their classmates final thoughts on why it is important to use their imagination.
