Important
This guide is designed to be paired with the MS01 Global Installation Guide, the DL 400 Installation
Guide, and any other third-party or optional installation guides, which will vary based upon your
specific configuration.
Note: There are two models of DL 4x0 printers. The specific model numbers are DL 400 and DL 410.
A1 Scanner software that works with the SP 1500, SP 2000, and SP 2500
scanners. This is a sub-component of the MS01 system.
Digital Link Request Spooler Developed by Fujifilm, this application performs all background
processing for producing prints and CDs, receiving input from external
sources such as kiosk, and communications with remote systems via
the Internet.
FDD Frontier Driver Direct. This service provides more control and greater
messaging capabilities when printing.
FMPC The Frontier Manager Printer Controller, also known as the LPC. One
of the terms used for a separate computer used to drive an LP printer
and receive data from the scanner (if configured to do so).
ICIII Imaging Controller III computer, formerly known as PIC (photo imaging
controller computer) and DIC (digital imaging controller computer).
LP (Laser Printer) This is the abbreviation that pre-pends Fujifilm printer model names.
For example, LP 5000.
LPC (Laser Printer Controller) Also known as the FMPC, this is one of the terms used as a name for
the computer, which is separate from the ICIII computer that is used to
drive a printer.
MCU (Main Control Unit) Known as the SPC in some regions, the Main Control Unit (MCU) is
the computer that drives the film scanner hardware. Note: Newer
scanner models run via the ICIII without a separate SPC/MCU device.
MS11 Scanner software that works with SP 500 and SP 3000 scanners.
This is a sub-section of the MS01 system.
Operator Mode On the ICIII, this mode locks down the system so only Fuji applications
can be used. After logging to Operator mode, Fuji applications
automatically launch.
Panda (Printer ANd Device Developed by Fujifilm, this application provides an interface between
Application) the Digital Link Request Spooler and various devices, such as
Frontier, ASK (also known as DPB or Copal), and Epson printers.
Red exclamation mark This will power off the ICIII system. For proper shut-down procedures,
see the MS01 Start-up and Shut-down Guide.
Software Launcher This is a tool that allows the user to switch to any of the programs that
are currently running.
SPC Known as the MCU in some regions, this is the name for the computer
that drives the scanner. Note: Newer scanner models run via the ICIII
without a separate SPC/MCU device.
Support Mode On the ICIII, this mode allows the user to access the operating
system. After logging to Support mode, Fuji applications automatically
launch.
Workstation This is another digital input system for the MS01 software. It allows
control of a printer, digital ingest, and CD burning.

This set of instructions assumes that you will be updating your MS01 v2.5 software to MS01 v2.5.5 and
have an SP 500 scanner and DL 410 printer.
2 Connect the mouse, keyboard, monitor, and network cables to the ICIII computer.
3 Setup the DL 410 printer and RIP computer (hardware and software).
Note: Refer to the DL 400 Installation Guide from Fujifilm Tokyo and install the DL 410 printer
and RIP setup and configuration. The steps included in this guide will have to be repeated for
each RIP machine and for each printer.
Important Note: The “Configuring various settings” section of the referenced installation guide
(page 63), needs to be completed for both printers on the ICIII. The “Configuring various
settings” section includes printer output registration; this can be completed after the printer
software is installed on the system.
Note: The DL 400 and DL 410 have different printer software CDs. Please be sure to use the
correct CD when installing the RIPs.
4 Connect the RIP computers, ICIII, and any other network devices to the same switch.
5 Refer to MS01 2.5.5 Installation Guide, and perform the applicable 2.5.5 update based on your
retailer/brand.
6 If necessary, install the Maintenance program from the printer software and register the DL
printers on the ICIII computer (see page 11 of this guide).
7 Add the printers to the MS01 software (see page 7 of this guide).
8 If your system includes an SP 500, install the MS11 software on the ICIII (see page 18 of this
guide).
9 Refer to the post-installation section of this guide and complete all necessary tasks. (See page
17.)
8 From the Selected Printer drop-down menu at the bottom of the dialog box, select the appropriate
printer.
9 Click OK.
The Printer Setup dialog box closes, and the System Configuration dialog box returns to focus.
10 Click OK.
11 Click OK.
The Maintenance and the System Configuration dialog boxes close, and the Maintenance
application window returns to focus.
12 Click Close.
This set of instructions assumes that you will be installing the new lab with an SP 500 scanner and DL
4x0 (inkjet) printers.
2 Connect the mouse, keyboard, monitor, and network cables to the ICIII computer.
3 Setup the DL 4x0 printers and RIP computers (hardware and software).
Note: Refer to the DL 400 Installation Guide from Fujifilm Tokyo and install the DL 4x0 printer
and RIP setup and configuration. The steps included in this guide will have to be repeated for
each RIP machine and for each printer.
Important Note: The “Configuring various settings” section of the referenced installation guide
(page 63), needs to be completed for both printers on the ICIII. The “Configuring various

SOFTWARE is installed on the system.
Note: The DL 400 and DL 410 have different printer software CDs. Please be sure to use the
correct CD when installing the RIPs.
4 Connect the RIP computers, ICIII, and any other network devices to the same switch.
5 Refer to MS01 Installation Guide and your region’s Installation Guide (if applicable), and
perform necessary pre-installation and installation procedures for the MS01 software on ICIII
ensuring the following:
The MS01 software needs to be installed on the ICIII hardware with the setup type called MS01
Server with Printer and Scanner Support or MS01 Server with Printer Support if you are
not using an SP 500 scanner.
Note: If your software update to 2.5.5 requires you to first install 2.5, you must select a DL 400
printer, even if you are using a DL 410 printer. You will change this later in the installation.
6 If necessary, install the Maintenance program from the printer software and register the DL
printers on the ICIII computer (see page 11 of this guide).
