This Software License Agreement is a legal document between you (a single entity) and FUJIFILM
Corporation (the "Licensor") for the DL 430 Ink-Jet Printer and MS01 Software (the "Software"). The
Software includes the DL 430 Ink-Jet Printer and MS01 software, the associated media, any printed
materials and any electronic documentation. By using the Software, you agree to the terms of this
Software License Agreement.
The Licensor grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use one copy of the Software in
object code only.
Ownership Retained By Licensor

FUJIFILM Corporation owns all title and copyrights in and to the Software and the Licensor has the full
right and authority to grant the license granted herein. Your license does not give you any title or
ownership in the Software, nor is it a sale of any rights in the Software. The only right granted to you is
the right to use the Software in accordance with the terms of this Software License Agreement. All rights
not specifically granted to you under this Software License Agreement are reserved by the Licensor.
You may make only a single copy of this Software as a backup copy, provided that it includes all notices
and markings, including copyright, trademark and other proprietary notices as on the original. Such
backup copy of the Software may not be in use at any time unless the original Software is damaged
beyond use, and it must remain in your possession and control. You may not copy the Software onto any
public network. You may not, and you may not allow others to, modify, disassemble, decompile, translate,
reverse engineer, reproduce, make derivative works of or enhance the software. You may not, and you
may not allow others to, rent, lease, sell, sublicense or otherwise transfer the Software to any other
person.
In addition to any other rights it may have, the Licensor may terminate this Software License Agreement if
you fail to comply with the terms and conditions hereof. In such event, you must cease all use of the
Software and destroy all copies of the Software and all of its component parts.

Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the Licensor be liable for any direct, special, incidental, indirect or consequential
damages whatsoever to you (including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, sales or data or for
business interruption) arising out of the use of or inability to use the Software, even if the Licensor has
been advised of the possibility of such damages. In any event, the Licensor's entire liability under any
provision shall be limited to the greater of the amount actually paid by you for the Software or $25.
Because some states and jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability, the above
limitation may not apply to you. If any provision of the Software License Agreement is declared by a court
of competent jurisdiction to be invalid for any reason, such invalidity shall not effect the remaining
provisions hereof.
Governing Law
This Software License Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York without regard
to conflict of laws principles.
Term
This License Agreement is effective until terminated. You may terminate this License Agreement by
returning the Licensed Product to Licensor. Licensor may terminate this License Agreement if you breach
any of the terms and conditions. Upon termination of this License Agreement for any reason, you shall
return the Licensed Product to Licensor. All provisions of this Agreement relating to disclaimers of
warranties, limitation of liability, remedies, or damages, and Licensor's proprietary rights shall survive
termination.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND AGREE TO
BE BOUND BY ITS TERMS. YOU FURTHER AGREE THAT THIS AGREEMENT IS THE COMPLETE
AND EXCLUSIVE STATEMENT OF THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND LICENSOR, AND
SUPERSEDES ANY PROPOSAL OR PRIOR AGREEMENT, ORAL OR WRITTEN, AND ANY OTHER

Chapter 1: Introduction
Overview
This guide will provide you with the necessary steps required to install the following configurations on
systems running MS01 version 3.0.
NOTE: Additional components, such as Workstations and HCIPs can also be added to each of these
system types.
Single DL 430 Printer Systems: RIP Systems

The diagram below demonstrates the possible components of a system that includes one DL 430 printer
and its associated RIP PC.

Chapter 2: Prerequisites
Baseline System Software
Before the DL 430 printer can be installed, the MS01 system must have MS01 version 3.0 installed.
For details regarding how to verify your system’s version, see page 11. For details regarding how to
install the software, refer to the MS01 3.0 Installation Guide. Additionally, during installation the Setup
Types chosen must be (or have been) MS01 Server with Printer Support (None) or MS01 Server with
Printer and Scanner Support (None). (To confirm type, contact your Fujifilm regional representative.)
Documentation and Installation CDs

Before starting this DL 430 installation, you may need the following software and documentation1 (based
on the configuration being installed):
The DL 430 Installation Manual – this is the hardware installation manual.
DL Image Processing Module Installation CD. (Non-RIP configurations only; installation instructions are
provided in this guide.)
DL 400 System Program Installation CD. (You will need the DL 400 Installation Guide from Fujifilm

Proceeding with DL Installation(s)

If you are installing a single DL 430 printer with a RIP PC, proceed to page 4.
If you are installing a single DL 430 printer without a RIP PC, proceed to page 6.
If you are installing dual DL 430 printers, proceed to page 8.
If you are installing dual, mixed-model DL printers, proceed to page 9.

Important Note: The “Configuring various settings” sections of the DL Installation Guides from Fujifilm
Tokyo need to be completed for both printers on the MS01 Server, including printer output registration;
this can be completed after the printer software is installed on the system.

Chapter 3: Installing a DL 430 Printer (with RIP PC)
Overview
This chapter provides you with the necessary steps required to install a DL 430 printer with a separate
RIP PC.

The specification of the Printer PC must have the same performance or higher as noted below. If the
specification of the Printer PC is lower than noted, processing performance will be extremely decreased.

Checklist
Follow the installation steps in the order they appear in the following checklist.
Important: Prior to the following installation, OS installation in ICIII should be complete.
1 Install the DL 430 printer body – unpack the main unit of the DL 430 printer. Refer to the DL 430
Installation Manual (the hardware installation manual), chapters 3 and 4.
2 Initial setting of the ICIII system – operating system settings.
3 Initial setting of the printer PC (RIP PC) – refer to the DL 430 Installation Manual (the hardware
installation manual), chapter 8.
4 Ensure prerequisite tasks on page 3 of this guide have been completed.
5 Connect the ICIII system and DL 430 printer and RIP PC with USB (hardware and software) –
refer to the DL 430 Installation Manual (the hardware installation manual), chapters 5-7.

9 Install the DL 430 Image Processing Module on the printer PC (RIP PC) – refer to page 16 of this
guide. For more detailed instructions, refer to the DL 430 Installation Manual (the hardware
installation manual), chapters 9.2.3 and 9.3.4.
10 Register the DL printer(s) with the MS01 Server refer to page 26 of this guide.
11 System Configuration settings – On the System Configuration [0601] screen in the

Maintenance menu of MS01 server, register DL 430 from the Current Devices list box (refer to
page 29 of this guide).
The installation is complete.

Chapter 4: Installing a DL 430 Printer (without RIP PC)
Overview
This chapter provides you with the necessary steps required to install one DL 430 printer with the RIP
software installed on the MS01 Server.

Recommended Specifications
In some cases, the system response may be delayed or paper will be rewound. When the system is
configured without a RIP-PC, the specification of the ICIII PC should be higher than noted below.

Procedure A: Verify the MS01 Software Version
1 On the MS01 Server, ensure that the View Orders or View Images screen is displayed.
2 Press the <F1> keyboard key.
The About MS01 dialog box opens.

3 If the MS01 software version displayed is version 3.0, proceed with the next step based on the
instructions in the checklist at the beginning of the guide.
If the MS01 software version displayed is not version 3.0, you must install the correct software
version before proceeding.
Contact your regional Fujifilm office for installation instructions.
Once completed, continue installation per the checklist in this guide.

Procedure B: Install the DL 430 Printer Software on the MS01
Server
1 Ensure that all orders in the system have completed.
2 On the MS01 Server, insert the MS01 3.0 DL 430 Printer Software installation CD into the MS01
Server’s CD-ROM drive (i.e., the ICIII installed as MS01 Server).
Important: If the lab’s system includes multiple computers, such as an SPC (MCU), LPC (FMPC),
etc., you only need to install on the MS01 Server.
3 Log the system off to Support mode (see page 52).
Once the system logs back on in Support mode, the installer automatically launches.

The wizard closes, and the system restarts.
10 Once the MS01 View Orders screen appears, press the <F1> keyboard key.
The About MS01 dialog box opens.
Note: The minor revision number

displayed on your screen will differ
from this example.
11 Verify that the entry for the MS01 3.0 DL 430 Printer Software has been added; it should now be
in the list displayed on the About MS01 dialog box.
The software update on the MS01 Server is complete.
12 Click OK.
The About MS01 dialog box closes.

13 If you have any non-server devices connected, follow the steps directly below on all connected
systems.
Note: If the configuration includes one or more Workstations, the following message dialog box
does not open and the system automatically restarts.
Note: if the system includes an SP 2000 scanner, an error dialog box may open on the SPC (MCU)
stating that the executable failed to run. Ignore this error; it self-dismisses when the system
restarts.
14 After restarting, the system’s Watchdog application invokes installation of the software update.

Procedure C: Install the RIP Software on the MS01 Server
This is a single DL printer configuration; the system will not have a separate RIP PC for the DL 430
printer.
Installing the RIP software has two major procedures:
Installing the Image Processing Module on the MS01 Server (see below).
Installing the DL 430 Printer Driver on the MS01 Server (see page 18).
Install the Image Processing Module

1 Insert the Image Processing Module installation CD into the MS01 Server’s CD-ROM drive.
2 Log the server off to Support mode (see page 52).
3 The server logs off and back on, and the

to manually invoke setup.exe from the EZ171
directory on the installation CD.)
4 From the Select Install Program drop-down menu, ensure that Image Processing Module
(Local) is selected.
5 Click OK.

The dialog box closes, and installation proceeds and completes.

Install the DL 430 Printer Driver

12 Place the DL 430 System Program CD7 into the MS01 Server’s CD-ROM drive.
13 Plug the printer’s USB cable into the MS01 Server.

the file named NKCUSB000.inf.
26 Click the Open button.
27 The Locate File dialog box closes, and focus

returns to the Install From Disk dialog box.
The Copy manufacturer’s files from drop-

down menu populates with the CD-ROM drive
letter and USBDriver.
28 Click OK.
The Install From Disk dialog box closes, and

a Found New Hardware Wizard opens with
the driver name selected in the Model field.

Procedure D: Install the DL Printer System Program on the
MS01 Server
Important: The first three steps below may not be necessary depending on the steps you performed
immediately before this section.
1 Place the DL System Program CD8 into the MS01 Server’s CD-ROM drive.
2 Log the system off to Support mode (see page 52).
3 Upon logging back on, the installer automatically launches.
(If it does not auto-launch, you will need to manually invoke setup.exe from the EZ171 directory on
the installation CD.)

Throughout this guide, you will find that many procedures require you to be in Support mode. Support
mode enables you to access additional features of the operating system that Operator mode does not
allow you to access.
Getting into Support mode is a four-step process. Rather than repeating these four steps (with the
accompanying descriptive screen captures) in every location where Support mode is required, we show
those steps here and refer to this area when Support mode is mentioned in the rest of the guide.
To enter Support mode:
1 From the MS01 3.0 FUJI -- View

Orders screen, click Tools in the top
right corner.
The MS01 Setup dialog box opens.
2 Click LOG OFF.
The Fujifilm Log-Off dialog box opens.
3 Enter the password 5u990rtm0d3.
