 Channels:

The readout unit supports to separated channel settings. They are called channel 1 and channel 2. When the device screen shows
channels, enter buttons is pressed and by changing the number ‘0’ to number ‘1’, another channel has been chosen.

 Test Parameters:
This page is used for setting test parameters. The following submenus are available under this menu;

 Area
 Test No
 Zero Suppression
 Failure Threshold
 Failure Percentage

In order to go into above mentioned submenus, enter button should be pressed.

AREA
Area factor is related with area and depends on the specimen type and size used in strength calculations. As known, areas which
calculated in splitting and flexure tensile strength tests are not the exact area of specimen, except for cube and cylinder specimens in
compression strength tests.

Area and area factors must be calculated according to the instructions given at the current EN standards and introduced the battery
operated readout unit as an area parameter. Calculating methods of Area or Area Factor values are described below.

 Concrete cube or cylinder – Compression Strength Test:

 Cube Area Calculation: Area (mm²) = Width (mm) x Length (mm)

 Cylinder Area Calculation : Area (mm²) = π x D² / 4

 Concrete Beam - Flexure Strength Test:

 The test is performed by applying load on beam specimens from their center points or from two separated points. Contact
line length (d1), thickness (d2) and roller separation (L) have to be used for mentioned calculation, Picture 6.
 Beam area factor calculation when the load is applied from center point;

Area Factor (mm²) = (2x d1 x d2²) / (3 x L)

 Beam area factor calculation when the load is applied from two different points;

Area factor (mm²) = (d1 x d2²) / L

Zero Suppression

It is used for eliminating the electrical noise at the beginning of the test. Until reaching the set value, machine will not sense the
load and shows ZERO on the load screen. This value should not exceed 0.5 % of the max capacity of the machine in kN unit,
which kN is the default value for our machines. Set this value to 0 or 0.1 in case a load cell is used. If this value is chosen too low,
the machine will be vulnerable for electrical noises. If this value is set too high, then the machine will not manage to follow the
actual load values and showing ZERO value, the actual value is more than zero, though. If necessary, the operator can alter this
value in the same way they do for TEST NO. In case that current value will be used, press DOWN arrow key to view next
parameter failure threshold.

Failure Threshold

The machine starts sensing breakage only after in case it exceeds this set value. If the value is too great, the machine will
not manage to detect crushing point/value. If the value is too low, then the machine will sense some possible electrical noises as
breakage. The possible default value for this set parameter may be 2, 3 or 4 % of the max capacity of the test machine. If ENTER
key is pressed while displaying this page, the previous failure threshold value is viewed. In case that current value will be used,
press DOWN arrow key to view next parameter failure percentage.

Failure Percentage

If this set value is chosen too low, any small crack will cause to the related test to a halt, as the mentioned crack will be treated
as final strength and the load graph will not be correct. Reverse, the test machine will not sense any deformation and the test load
will increase till safety threshold value, i.e. the machine will be deaf. This set value can be entered as percentage value from 1 to
99. By experiments, the values between 5 and 20 will be suitable for this section. If ENTER key is pressed while displaying this
page, the previous FAILURE PERCENTAGE value is viewed. If current percentage value won’t be used, press ENTER key one
