(Statement of the Research Problem)

ZYNDRELL D. FELIX 12 - PINE

The vital aspect that your study aims to answer is a statement of the problem. In other
words, it encompasses the current knowledge gap that your research attempts to close through
credible results or outcomes. A problem statement might be as short as a few phrases or as
long as several pages; what matters is that it communicates the study's main point.
A problem statement is a concise, unambiguous, and exact explanation of a topic that
the researcher wants to investigate. It contains a mission statement, an issue statement, and a
solution approach. A problem statement may be defined using the "5 W’s": Who, What, Where,
When, and Why. Formulating the research problem helps you make your study's objective
appear to you and the reader. The method's further development should be attentive to
delivering information to solve that challenge. As a result, an issue statement is a critical tool for
staying on track with your study. It's also one of the ways the research problem will assess your
analysis: does it answer the problem as stated?
The primary goals of the research are to guide action, acquire evidence for hypotheses,
and contribute to advancing knowledge in a particular subject. This article examines the
importance of research and the several reasons it is beneficial to everyone, not just students
and scientists. Understanding the need for research may seem self-evident, but many
individuals avoid it like the plague. However, for people who like learning, whether or not they
are affiliated with a research institution, performing research is not just important—it's
necessary.
I would instead do a research issue on a cultural theme; differences between the past
and present, youth culture, technological influences on culture, and globalization. Because
culture research, in general, enables us to comprehend how various civilizations arose. It also
outlines how people's conduct differs from one location to the next. We can never judge or
delegate which one is superior or inferior because of this. Any change in them can influence the
world we live in. Therefore, we should accept them with a clear understanding. If done correctly,
they can assist in developing generations of people who are responsible and possess high
ethical and moral values.
Reading previous studies to find any gaps in knowledge is the best technique to identify
a research problem. You may also find study problems by analyzing your surroundings and
noticing inconsistencies among viewpoints.
You must produce a well-defined explanation of the problem, whether you seek
financing for your study or approval from your professor. An issue statement helps you sell your
study's main idea and convince others that it is essential to address. It should call attention to
your research's main topic and persuade people to conduct your thorough examination.
