 Taylor’s University offers a range of financial awards to support local and international students to succeed in their
postgraduate programmes. The financial support is awarded on a competitive basis where assessments include academic
achievements, leadership qualities, scholastic aptitude, presentation skills and writing skills.

POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH PROGRAMMES

CLOSING DATE : 17 April 2017 & 17 October 2017

Taylor’s Taylor’s University World Fellowship Scheme is a prestigious postgraduate funding programme
awarded by the University to outstanding postgraduates who have passion in research and
University demonstrate leadership qualities. This Fellowship is offered to full-time academically outstanding

World local and international research mode candidates on a yearly basis. Under the tutelage of their
supervisors, Taylor’s University World Fellowship recipients are trained in academic writing and
Fellowship publishing to enable them to become effective researchers. TUWF is open to 2017 new students.

• Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA ≥ 3.67
from any recognized local / foreign
universities and Master’s Degree
(Coursework / Mixed mode) with
CGPA ≥ 3.67 or by Research mode
from any recognized local / foreign
universities
• Research Proposal must be
approved by School of Postgraduate
Committee
• Interview and written assessment
are required
• Students must have at least two (2) articles
accepted in a journal indexed by SCOPUS
database within six long semesters of
admission
• Must submit an article to a journal indexed by
SCOPUS database after the fourth and fifth
long semesters as a requirement for
consideration of continuous funding in the
fifth and sixth semester respectively. An
evidence of such submission must indicate
that the articles have been sent for review as
stated by the journal editor
• Students are required to complete their
studies within a maximum of 6 semesters /
3 years full time studies
• Students will be bonded by Taylor’s for
3 years upon completion of studies

Students interested in pursuing their Master’s / PhD’s studies at Taylor’s University in any of our
postgraduate research programmes can apply for the Vice-Chancellor Award. The coveted
Vice-Chancellor’s Award is given to exceptional Master’s and PhD students. This award is offered to

Vice-Chancellor support research in all areas of studies in the University and to instill excellent values amongst
Award postgraduate students academically and socially. Award recipients are expected to devote their
efforts to research and publishing articles as well as participating in University events and activities
and getting engaged in various non-academic activities like community activism, charity work or
educational services.

SCOPUS database after the third long semesters

fourth semester. An evidence of such submission
must indicate that the article has been sent for
review as stated by the journal editor

PhD
• 100% tuition fee waiver for a
maximum of 6 semesters /
3 years full time studies
• 100% thesis examination fee

• Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA ≥ 3.50
from any recognized local / foreign
universities
• Master’s Degree (Coursework / Mixed

mode with at least 1 article published
in peer-reviewed journals or equivalent
qualification recognized by the
Malaysian government
• Research Proposal must be approved
by School of Postgraduate Committee
• Interview and written assessment are
required
• Students must have at least two (2) articles
accepted in a journal indexed by SCOPUS database
within six long semesters of admission
• Must submit an article to a journal indexed by
SCOPUS database after the fourth and fifth long
semesters as a requirement for consideration of
continuous funding in the fifth and sixth semester
respectively. An evidence of such submission must
indicate that the articles have been sent for review
as stated by the journal editor
 Alignment to Taylor’s University’s strategic thrust is critical in the granting of these awards. All financial awards are subject
to their own specific terms and conditions. The availability is limited and applicants should seek clarification with Taylor’s
Graduate School at the time of application.

ASEAN ASEAN Tourism Scholarship is open for application by nationals from ASEAN member countries,

Tourism to pursue postgraduate research studies (Master’s / PhD) on areas related/relevant on ASEAN
tourism. The research focus should be aligned to the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP)
Scholarship priorities.

Plan (ATSP) 2016 – 2025 priority areas
• Written assessment (motivational letter)
• Only shortlisted candidate(s) will be
contacted for interview
• Student must have at least one (1) article
accepted in a journal indexed by SCOPUS
database within four long semesters of
admission
• Must submit an article to a journal indexed by
SCOPUS database after the third long semesters
as a requirement for continuous funding in the
fourth semester. An evidence of such submision
must indicate that the article has been sent for
review as stated by the journal editor

PhD

The purpose is to recruit talented young researchers to support Taylor’s University strategic plans in
Master and PhD research and development. The entitlement, criteria for eligibility and specific terms and conditions
are stated below. There is no bond of service to Taylor’s University upon completion of the
4 Research programme. Subject to the terms and conditions of the grant, candidates can be supported with
Scholarship other allowances funded by the research grant. There is a penalty of full-time studies tuition fees
chargeable for two long semesters when the required publications are not delivered.

PhD Research Scholarship

 The Tutorship award offers Taylor’s University postgraduate students opportunity to gain teaching
experience, earn a monthly stipend and enjoy tuition fee waiver. Priority in recruitment of tutors will be

be withdrawn at any time in the event of gross misconduct or
failure to meet the required academic grades.
