• Intervals of a 4th, 5th 8th and unison are called Perfect

intervals.
• Intervals of a 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th can either be major or
minor. (They can also be augmented or diminished but not for these
exercises)

Below there are two intervals of a 3rd. One must be major


and the other minor?
Can you think of a way to decide which is which? Write your
thought in the box at the bottom of the page.

Name both the quantity and quality of the intervals below.


i.e. major 2nd, perfect 5th minor 3rd etc.
