Age discrimination occurs when a person in our community is treated less favourably, or
not given the same opportunities as others in a similar situation, he/she is considered to
be old or too young.
2. Covid-19 discrimination when you just isolate even if it’s negative from covid, people
will stay away and gossip.
3. Disability discrimination harassing someone with disability harassment includes telling
offensive jokes, comments or gestures. This behavior also occurs in our community.

What can you do to counter these stigmatizing attitudes?

I will speak up if I see others treated poorly. I will maintain also the privacy and confidentiality
of those seeking healthcare and those who may be part of any contact investigation and
correcting negative language that can cause stigma by sharing accurate information about how
virus spreads.

“Inequality damages the whole social fabric of a society – increasing social divisions, status
insecurity and status competition. Do you agree with the statement? Why or why not? Write
your answers on a separate sheet of paper.

Yes, the inequality has the greatest impact on those at the bottom of the social ladder, it also
has a negative influence on those at the top, because inequality destroys the entire social fabric
of society, generating social divisions, status insecurity, and status competitiveness. Indeed, the
substantial discrepancies in the performance of more and less equal societies are due to the
fact that a large majority of the population not just the poor is affected by inequality. The
magnitude of the discrepancies varies by health or social issue, but they are all between twice
and ten times more likely in more equal countries than in more equal nations.
