Purpose Statement: To inform listeners about meaning, qualities, problems, and suggestions
related to leadership.

Introduction:

What does leadership means? How do we choose a good leader? What will happen when
leadership fails? What shall we do to overcome the problems it may cause? These are questions
that are running in the minds of concerned citizens thinking of what will be the nation's future
situation.

Body:

Well then let's talk about it, but first we should know what Leadership means. Leadership is the
activity of driving and persuading a gathering to act toward accomplishing a shared objective.
Human development is possible only with the good leadership. In a case of poor leadership or
absence of leadership, it is not possible for any group or organization to succeed. Moreover,
leadership to be successful requires some significant qualities that are not present in everybody.
A leader is someone who we can look up to and be proud to follow. They set direction and build
an inspiring vision. As well as providing direction, inspiration, and guidance good leaders should
be ethical and with good moral character. Governance is important in a nation so how do we
choose an effective leader? Here are the following guide that will help us in the screening stage:

Effective leaders must have:

1.Clear Vision

2.Should lead by example

3.Shows Integrity

4.Knows how to communicate effectively

5.Decisive

6.Empower others

7.Motivate & Inspire

The characteristics found in leaders are not shaped inside a day or powerless yet they are
developed through long stretches of difficult work, tolerance, and gaining from disappointments.
What if we have chosen the bad one blinded with their promises and their leadership fails? Bad
governance may lead to poverty,can cause negatively impacts on people's well-being, health
issues, emotional and psychological distress.

According to the Worldbank, recently estimated poverty in the world is approximately 9.2% or
we can say that total of almost 689 million individuals suffer through extreme poverty. Bad
leaders and their bad governance are creating all the big global problems.Then what shall we do
now,especially that we are facing a pandemic? Leaders should be the one to act but they are not
alone in this battle,we could not simply demand for a good governance without doing our part.

Conclusion:

We can use these guide to avoid choosing the wrong one and make us able to know who is fit to
run the country, serve the people and will lead us to cooperate towards a common goal. We
should cooperate with the government and give them a chance to improve their performance.
