I have always valued education and tried my best to get the maximum knowledge possible.

I went
to two top Mathematics schools in my country, none of which would’ve been possible without my
parents’ support. However, when it comes to university education, it gets costly. Coming from my
family’s means and other dependents my parents need to support, financial assistance is vital. I’m
the first one of my siblings to go to university and the first one in my family to get a chance to study
abroad. My parents will need to pay for my siblings’ education as well. As a family, who still lives in
the small apartment my dad was raised in and tries to cut down on most things so that my siblings
and I can get a good education, we wouldn’t be able to support the full price of the tuition fees
without a scholarship, I believe my academic profile gives me a good chance to be granted one.
Georgia, where I come from, is a tiny country where the education offered is not enough for my
goals. As someone who’s very ambitious and motivated for what I want to do, I think I would be
wasting my potential if I stayed here.
I distinctly remember the first time I was assigned to do one of the bigger projects in middle
school. It required a lot of preparation and research. Getting graded for projects was my favorite way
of accumulating good grades since I’ve always been good at it. As I grew up, I started putting all my
school projects passion into MUNs. After doing a few, I believe I have acquired a good variety of
general skills for various project topics, which is why I think I fully qualify for the IE Collaboration
Award. I learned a lot from MUNs. Many of my entrepreneurial motivations come from that place,
and I take it the IE project will not be far different. I’ve had to give a lot of speeches presentations; I
have had to work under tight deadlines on some heavy research. I’m heavily interested in the
possible topics of the project, especially marketing and communication. However, I still have a
plethora of other interests apart from my program, which could be helpful. I learn and absorb
information quickly, and I can easily adapt to any working schedule and am more than willing to give
it my all.
Over my school years, I always tried to fit in as many extra-curricular activities as possible. Doing
something outside of school always excited me gave me a new sense of motivation. I’d say one of
my favorite extra-curricular activities is Model UN. Ever since I did my first one back in 2018, I fell in
love with the environment, debates, connections with other delegates. The committees I chose were
always close to my interests. For one of them, I also got to attend the General Assembly in UN
Headquarters, which is an experience I’ll never forget. I was always deeply involved in the
resolution-writing process and found some clever solutions to many world problems. I also got
chosen to present the resolution a couple of times. I enjoyed the MUNs so much that I participated in
a training program to get to know the UN better and hosted a few practice debates. I’ve always been
aware of environmental issues, which is why I decided to volunteer for an organization where I
helped out the community by cleaning up multiple trashed areas. This granted me even more
awareness, and I’ve been quite vocal about it since. That’s why I believe I match the criteria of The
Personal Excellence Scholarship.
Switching through schools is a hard thing to go into. New surroundings new teachers can often be
daunting. However, I still managed to maintain a good average. When I first moved to a school that
had way more workload than I expected, I went into it with hope and enthusiasm. I never kept a bad
mindset, and no matter what, I always worked very hard on my grades. I believe my talent in
mathematics led me to enjoy it so much and excel at school. Same with English. I’ve always had a
love for creative writing and literature. As I got older, I quickly understood that not all subjects would
be like this, so I definitely put in a lot of work for my grades to remain over 9/10 average. Currently,
they add up to 9.2/10. I reckon I qualify for The Good Academic Performance Scholarship because I
know IE will recognize my talent. Still, without financial aid, I would not be able to attend the
university. I hope the work I put into high school will pay off.
