JUST OUTSIDE THE BARN - DAWN
It's very quiet. For a busy farm, it's too quiet. All the
animals are silent and you can't even here the wind. A sunny
day.
CAMERA ZOOMS IN TO:
2. INT. BARN - CONTINUOUS 00:00:43
The barn is full of hay scattered all across the ground. The
lifeless bodies of two baby chicks are barely visible from
under a hay stack. Animal steps are heard, suddenly breaking
the silence. Then, a voice:
CAMERA TURNS TO FACE
BARN ENTRANCE
YODA:
The crimes begin once again. Every
season, the same story. The same
mystery to solve. And the killer is
always hiding... Alw..
FAST EDDIE:
Oh shut up YODA! You always talk
and talk and never get anything
done. We are the detectives here !
These animals
(pointing outside of the
barn)
Trusted us with this. And with all
the other crimes that happened
here. And what do you do ? You get
us all depressed.
CAMERA TRUN AND
ZOOMS TO:
3. EXT. BARN 00:00:54
The two goats walk out of the barn. Eddie continues to
speak, while the other animals gather around them. Eddie and
Yoda walks a bit further towards a fence and then they stop.
FAST EDDIE:
This time we will get the killer. I
promise.
JUMP CUT TO:
***. NEAR FENCE GOAT'S HEAD 00:01:00
FAST EDDIE:
Come YODA. I see a clue!
CAMERA ZOOMS IN TO:
***. EXT. FARM - FIELD AND BUSHES FAR AWAY 00:01:30
EDDIE and YODA jump the fence. EDDIE walks ahead. He is
hurrying towards something in the bushes. As they get
closes, the bushes start to tremble. A red shadow appears
and quickly runs away through the field.
YODA:
The spirits are here ! Take cover
EDDIE! They will get us too! They
always claim their victims!
FAST EDDIE:
It was a fox dummy. Everything is
so clear now. The fox murdered the
baby chicks. But why leave them
there? Why not eat them? Those are
the questions we need to answer.
YODA:
Come on EDDIE, let's follow it, see
if you are right.
The goats set to follow the fox. The path is long.
CAMERA TURNS TO:
***. NEAR A SMALL FOREST - LATER 00:01:41
It's probably afternoon by now. The goats walk very slowly.
They look exhausted. EDDIE is first, YODA comes second. They
approach a big tree. Looking towards the tree:
FAST EDDIE:
There's something on this tree,
Yoda! Come, fast, let's read!
CAMERA ZOOMS IN TO:
***. A TREE TRUNK WITH A POSTER 00:02:05
There is a poster on the tree. It's designed by PETA or a
similar animal rights organization. It has a pretty flower
and something written : If you like it, you will not pick
it. If you treasure life, you will not eat it. It's all
written in pink.
 YODA: (VOICE)
Look at this pretty flowers and
pretty text!
FAST EDDIE: (VOICE)
I hate pink. It almost makes me
hate these nice animals' friends
people. Too bad they have such bad
taste in picking colors.
Eddie and Yoda are seen walking further, near the tree while
the camera still shows the poster.
CAMERA TURNS TO:
***. FOREST PATH - CONTINUOUS 00:02:23
Eddie and Yoda are seen from behind, walking down a path in
silence, while forest sounds can be heard. The sun is
visible here and there down the path.
YODA:
Shhht!
(Stops)
I can hear it ! The fox. It's
crying.
EDDIE:
Where?
Both turn to the left.
CAMERA TURNS TO:
***. TO THE LEFT - A BUSH - CONTINUOUS 00:02:31
We see a bush. There is someone crying there. The goats are
not visible in the shot.
EDDIE: (HUSHED VOICE)
What's she crying about ?
CAMERA ZOOMS IN TO:
***. BUSH, CLOSER - CONTINUOUS 00:02:48
The same buch, zoomed in. We can hear a female fox crying
and talking.
FOX:
I tried not to eat life . I am so
hungry now. I haven't eaten in
days! What can I do ? I wa good, I
(MORE)
 FOX: (CONT'D)
didn't eat life!
(crying continues)
CAMERA FADES OUT TO
BLACK
CAMERA FADES IN TO:
***. EXT. FARM - AFTERNOON 00:03:12
Yoda and Eddie are back at the farm. Many animals are there
to listen to the story. The case was solved. The fox killed
the chiks but didn't eat them because the poster said so.
EDDIE:
So I old her, try some carrots, an
apple, anything. I even offered to
save her a bread or two from those
you piggies always steal from the
window pane. She can't keep killing
animals and think she is ok because
she doesn't eat them. It's all in
vain. I don't know if she
understood. But at least she's not
hungry anymore.
