Pranav and Prasiddhi Champions

Pranav Anand and Prasiddhi Bhat of Mysore emerged champions of Karnataka State
Under 11 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2016 which jointly organised by Rotary
Bangalore South and Chess Shoots Academy, Bangalore under the auspices of United
Karnataka Chess Association concluded today at YMCA, International Program Center,
Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore 56001.

Pranav Anand of Bangalore defeated Hrishikesh Rupesh Raghuvaran of Bangalore to

clinch the title by scoring eight points out of possible 9 points. Aathish B Shetty and
Shiva Chethan Halamane of Dakshina Kannada District scored 7.5 points and based on
better tie break score former secured the Ist runner up.

In girls category, Prasiddhi Bhat of Mysore drew with Spandana Raikar of Shimoga in
the final round to clinch the title. Sanjana Raghunath of Bangalore, Ananya Arumbakkam
of Bangalore and Spandana M Raikar of Shimoga scored 7 points each. Based on better
tie break score Sanjan Raghunath became the Ist runnr up.

Rtn Jaiprakash, President Rotary Bangalore South distributed prizes along with Rtn
Jaichandra Aradhya, Treasurer, Rtn Kiran Shank, Director youth srvices, Rtn Shivram,
Director Community Serices, Rtn Sathish PS, incoming President 2016-17, Rtn
Gangadarappa, Director International Services, Mr R Hanumatha, Joint secretary, All
India Chess Federation.

Pranav Anand, Aathish B Shetty, Prasiddhi Bhat and Sanjana Raghunath will represent
Karnataka State for the upcoming 30th National Under 11 Open and Girls Chess
Championship to be held at Raipur from 26th June to 6th July 2016.
