Explanation:
Interviews allow researchers build a deeper understanding of the thinking behind the
respondents' answers. They help the researchers obtain and uncover rich, deep
insight and learn information that they may have missed otherwise if they're going to
use mere observations or questionnaires. The presence of an interviewer can give
the respondents additional comfort while answering the questionnaire and ensure
correct interpretation of the questions, unlike what can possibly happen when you
use questionnaires. A well-trained interviewer can also help a lot in improving the
response rate. Personal interviews can also encourage respondents to share more
and feel more at ease talking than that on focus groups where they are usually
interviewed by group. In focus groups, the presence of  excessively loud members
can subdue the opinions of those who are less vocal, or, if one of them turns out to
be remarkably persuasive and influential, others might just imitate or agree upon his
ideas.
