Business case discussion 4.

Answer 1

Amit tried to work in favour of his company findomega.com only and increase the revenue in such

difficult time but his work was not ethically and legally perfect according to the norms of the

company as pointed out by the internal audit department. Because of the reasons:

1. He signed a barter deal with the advertising agency which was not done as per the standard

format given by company

2. The Managing director was not informed before signing such barter deals

3. He should have re checked with the company’s policy, especially with the legal and

compliance department

Answer 2

The Managing director’s opinion was that in this new norms after the company has gone public

listed, there should be everything done according to the laws and compliance set by the legal

department.

AS the internal audit team mentioned that this barter deal looks like that specially this deal was

done in the quarter end which looks like it was done and recorded just to complete the quarter end

targets. Even the opinion was that no proper standard format was followed.

Answer 3

Although it seems that not having tight regulations might help people innovate and take big risks

with more ideas. But in longer term if we see, There should be standard formats should be followed

so that the foundation of a company is very strong. Because in shorter term one can make good

profits with no such norms but if needed in long term all such things should be strict with all proper

guidelines

Answer 4

Hello Amit,

I hope this mail finds you well.

I went through your email and understood your situation, I would like to mention that maybe your
intentions were not bad or any harming again your company but you were focused to meet

quarterly target and the fact is transaction should be incorporated only after the period of 1 month

is completed. Also, you billed the advertisement on the online travel agency’s site at the same rate

of findomega.com without taking consent of managing director and the proper standard format,

which again was unethical.

I would advise to get in touch with the concerned departments and discuss with your MD
