2022 Bible Study: DO WHAT JESUS DID, Robby Dawkins

Chapter 7 (Workbook)
FREEDOM PRAYERS
Dear Father,
Thank You that You are here with us. Thank You that all power and all knowledge belong to you. I believe
Your love for me, and I open every area of my life to the truth and light of Your Presence. We bind every
influence of the enemy, and every manifestation. Jesus, we ask You to protect our minds and bodies during this
time.
Fill me with the Holy Spirit and guide us into all truth, all healing, and all love. Thank You that in Christ I have
authority to set captives free. I thank You for a Spirit of wisdom, of revelation, and of sound mind. We pray this
now by faith in the name of Jesus.
Please reveal each area You want to heal and to bring freedom today. Amen.
FREEDOM FOR THE CAPTIVES
EACH DISPLAY OF LOVE NO MATTER HOW SMALL IS A POWERFUL ACT OF SPIRITUAL
WARFARE THAT REMOVES ANXIETY FROM THE ENVIRONMENT, REPLACES IT WITH
FREEDOM & SAFETY WHILE INVITING EACH PERSON TO BRING THEMSELVES FORWARD
IN THE RELATIONSHIP. – Danny Silk

“If the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free.” – John 8:36
Jesus comes to reconcile the earth to heaven. He comes as the Prince of Peace to “comfort the brokenhearted,
proclaim that captives will be released, and prisoners will be freed… to tell those who mourn that the time of
the Lord’s favor has come, to give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive
praise instead of despair.” Deliverance from oppressive spirits was one of the central aspects of Jesus’
ministry. It was something He practiced in the temple as well as the marketplace.
When it comes to spiritual warfare people tend to slide in one of two directions. On the one hand, the
spiritual realm is hardly acknowledged. Demonic bondage & oppressive spirits are not seen as relevant or at
work today. At the other side are people who tend to over-spiritualize and see everything as a demonic issue.
Becoming locked into either position may desensitize us to the spiritual realities occurring around us and hinder
us from developing the skills and confidence to discern between the natural and the spiritual and step in with
authority to resist and reverse the work of the enemy when necessary. I John 3:8 says the reason that the Son of
God appeared was to destroy the works of Satan.
How do we destroy the devil’s works? First of all I want to encourage you that it can be as simple and as
powerful as forgiving, as bringing love and mercy instead of judgment and accusation, or sharing a message of
hope and faith to a discouraged heart. Second, I want to encourage you that with the same confidence, peace,
and authority as you have to love someone, you have authority to bind and case out affliction and tormenting
spirits. As you saw in the stories I shared, this can take many forms. To continue growing in the area of
deliverance ministry I would recommend training with an experienced team. At the same time, it’s true that as
soon as you receive the Holy Spirit you have all authority in Christ to bring His freedom to the spiritually
captive or oppressed. Jesus was sent to destroy the works of Satan, and so are we.
As Christ-followers our battle is not against other humans, but to restore, heal, build up, and call back to
freedom a world that is beloved. We live in a society that is overwhelmed by pain, anxieties, addictions, fears,
and other kinds of woundedness. Furthermore, in my experience, Satan is as active in the church as he is in the
world, if not more. He is continually at work to chip away to intimidate and to divide. He loves to see us
entangled with conflicts, jealousy, rivalry, and performance mentality, striving to complete tasks that God never
asked us to do. He’s fighting to keep us preoccupied with all those things so that we aren’t able to live in
freedom and abundant life restored to us through Jesus. While struggles are a part of human existence, areas of
repeated or constant hurt may become (or be caused by) spiritual bondage.
We are called and empowered to live in freedom. In Acts 5:16 we see the disciples of Jesus at work. “Crowds
gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all
of them were healed.” As our practice for tonight’s session, we will ask the Holy Spirit to direct us towards
areas in our life that represent bondage and use the authority of Christ in us to release freedom.
1. DISCUSS
a. What stood out to you about the chapter?
We have fully Holy Spirit into our human bodies, We need give Him space to extend each part of our mind,
will, hart, emotions, attitudes, relationships, until we reflect Gods Glory.

b. What questions did it raise for you?

c. How did it change your view of God?

When we are in Crist, we need walk in His Authorithy, living in agreement with heaven

d. Was there a time in your life when you witnessed spiritual warfare?
in my childhood, I was persecuted by demons, they tried to kill me.

2. WATCH
a. We are beloved of God, set apart for every good work. For tonight’s session, we will ask the Holy Spirit to
direct us towards areas in our life where He wants to bring freedom. Use the “Freedom prayer” from the
first page to bless the work of the Holy Spirit and forbid manifestation.
3. GROUPS
a. Take a minute. Before we begin, ask the Holy Spirit to highlight areas that could be creating spiritual blocks:
 Forgiveness we need to forgive because we need step away to live in agreement with the word of God
 Confession
 Renouncing Ties - spirit center, indoctrinate spirits
b. For the next 30 minutes, divide into groups or partners based on one of the three areas. As you work
through each issue share and pray for each other.
4. CELEBRATE
“…He has brought you back as His friends. He has done this through His death on the cross in His own human
body. As a result, He has brought you into the very Presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand
before Him without a single fault. You must continue to believe this truth and stand in it firmly.” Colossians 1:22-
23, NLT
a. For the last 15-20 minutes share breakthrough experiences from the night. When people share their
breakthroughs, take time to encourage, speak prophetically, or bless them. Also have a few people share
from their “New Creation” collage from page 1.
5. PERSONAL ASSESSMENT: CHOOSE TO FORGIVE
a. Unforgiveness is the only thing that prevents us from receiving God’s grace & forgiveness in our own lives.
Forgiving people can become easier with practice and living an offense-free lifestyle releases power and
freedom in our life. If your list is long this may be an important area to work with someone over the
following weeks. Sometimes forgiveness is a process that you continue to walk through over time as the
Holy Spirit brings up levels of healing.
b. For if you forgive others their wrongs, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive
others their wrongs, neither will Your Father forgive your wrongs. – Matthew 6:14-16
c. Ask Jesus to bring to mind anyone you need to forgive. This often includes yourself, and even thoughts
against God.
d. List them here.
e. In partners - PRAYER OF FORGIVING vicky
For each person God brings to mind, pray, “Jesus, I choose to forgive ____________ for (what they did)
__________________ even though it made me feel (share what hurt) ____________________________. I
choose not to hold anything against _____________. What they did was wrong, and I thank You that Your
death on the cross more than covered this debt. Please break now any tie of hurt that exists between us.
Cleanse me. Thank You that I am fully loved by You, and nobody owes me anything. My cup overflows. I will
not continue to repeat their offenses to myself or others. I release them fully to You to deal with. Bless us,
Jesus, to receive all of Your mercy. Cleanse me now from bitterness, unforgiveness, and vengeance. Heal me,
in the name of Jesus.
f. What was hard about forgiving? Sometimes when we feel stuck with the weight of the pain, it’s helpful to
visualize this and hold it up to Jesus in your hands – tell Him you choose to forgive & release it to Him – ask
Him to take the unforgiveness & pain from you.

Pray for one another. Thank God for forgiveness & your partner’s willingness to forgive. Commit each situation
to the Lord. (Psalm 37:5) step away to live in agreement with the word of God/ Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:Salmos 37:5

g. Pray that they would continue to live in forgiveness and that bitterness, resentment, & unforgiveness would
have no power in their life.
h. One – two people tell a story about forgiveness in their life.
i. What does it mean to forgive someone?
j. What examples does Scripture give us of forgiveness?
k. Does forgiveness mean forgetting?
Why or why not?
l. What helps us forgive other people? because we need step away to live in agreement with the word of God
m. How is God able to help us forgive when it’s hard? yes
6. CONFESSION
Psalm 32 offers us several powerful reasons to confess our sins and shows us the consequences of unconfessed
sin. David felt weak and was miserable when he did not confess. “For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as
by the heat of summer.”
a. Confess sin: Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. – James 5:16
b. List any areas of unconfessed sin.
c. PRAYER OF CONFESSION: Together read Psalm 51 out loud. final
Take a moment to be still and realize how much God loves you and is for you, as described in Romans 8:32,
“He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give
us all things?” – Romans 8:32
d. Confess your sins and pray for each other.
 Thank God for this beloved person & bless them.
 Release healing & strength over them to do right.
 Thank Jesus that the power of sin is broken by His cross, by the suffering of His love we are healed.
 Affirm & thank God for giving them the opposite attribute that the sin nature is surfacing. If
arguments/anger is an issue, thank God that He’s given them a Spirit of peace.
 Tell them: You are forgiven. Your sins are as far as the east from the west. (Psalm 103:12) In the name of
Jesus I bless you.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts
sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. –
Hebrews 10:22

7. In small groups – Prayer of RENOUNCING TIES

a. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or
what fellowship has light with darkness? … as God said, “I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Therefore come out from them and be separate,” says the Lord, “Touch no unclean thing; then I will
welcome you.” 2 Corinthians 6:14
b. Ask Jesus if there is anything else He wants to cancel in this moment. This can also include curses, “labels”
and harsh words others have spoken about you, or you believed about yourself.
c. SPIRITUAL OPPRESSION
 Sensing or seeing spiritual beings in your room. X I'm praying to see the spirit world again
 Recurring nightmares. (Specifically renounce fear.) Panic Syndrome
 Imaginary friend, spirit guides, or “angel” offering guidance or companionship.
 Voices in your head or nagging repeating thoughts that are not from God, such as “I’m dumb. I’m ugly.
Nobody loves me. I can’t do anything right.”
 Strong impulse to cut, hurt yourself, or commit suicide.
d. Descriptions of areas that can represent oppression. (Neil Anderson’s complete work on “Steps to Freedom”
may be helpful for a more comprehensive follow up.)

e. Dear Jesus, I confess that I have participated in that was not of You. I ask that You break any and every
agreement I have done knowingly or unknowingly that involves occult, cult or non-Christian teachings or
practices. Thank You for Your forgiveness. I also forgive myself. I renounce all involvement with and I cancel
out any entrance the enemy gained in my life through this. I want to experience Your freedom by
renouncing these things right now. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
f. Prayer of Declaration: In the name and authority of Jesus Christ we command any dark sprits to release their
hold on ___________ and go now to where the Holy Spirit sends you. We declare ______________ belongs
fully to Christ, and is raised up and seated with Christ in the heavenly places. We ask that any hold or
attachment be closed and cut off, we forbid ungodly spirits to harm _____________ or in any way prevent
God’s will from being done today in ___________’s life. We bless _____________ in the name of Jesus, and
ask they be fully freed and filled with Your perfect peace and Your Presence.

Salmos 5
1
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out
my transgressions.
2
Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
3
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
4
Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and
justified when you judge.
5
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6
Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
7
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8
Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9
Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
13
Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.
14
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of
your righteousness.
15
Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise.
16
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17
My sacrifice, O God, is "a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
18
May it please you to prosper Zion, to build up the walls of Jerusalem.
19
Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous, in burnt offerings offered whole; then bulls will be
offered on your altar.
