Recipe of Peace

For all things done wholeheartedly and steadfast are graced by the will of God:
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong
support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this,
for from now on you will have wars.” (2 Chronicles 16:9).
We first start with a base of righteousness: “If you know that He is righteous, you know
that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” (1 John 2:29).
Combine with cups of compassion: ”Because of the Lord’s great love we are not
consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your
faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Add several pinches of wisdom: “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all
pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial
and sincere.” (James 3:17).
We then stir it together with a generous serving of humility: “Do nothing out of selfish
ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” (Philippians
2:3).
Fold within the mixture love slowly: “Whoever does not love does not know God,
because God is love.” (1 John 4:8).
Last but not the least, add heaps of forgiveness: "Be kind to one another, tender-
hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32).
You may change the proportions as you wish depending on your preferences yet the
key to success lies in doing it regularly: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of
those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim
salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’ ” (Isiah 52:7).
