Since teaching English is not just focused on grammar but also literature, mythology is a good

way to introduce it. Myths can be exciting stories for students to learn about. Myths play a
fundamental role in learning the context of literature of different countries around the world. For
example, the study of Greco-Roman and Norse mythology strengthens students' understanding
of language since many English words are derived from characters and events found within. It
can also increase students' appreciation for Literature and art by understanding the many
mythological allusions. Therefore, in this way us as a Second Language English teacher can
emphasize the importance of mythology.
