Ki Hadjar Dewantara

Raden Mas Soewardi Soerjaningrat or

better known as Ki Hadjar Dewantara was
one of the activists of the independence
movement.
Throughout his life, Ki Hadjar Dewantara
has played a major role in Indonesian
education.
The Taman Siswa College was one of the
results of his efforts in providing
educational opportunities for Indonesian
natives, which at that time could only be
enjoyed by the Dutch community and the
elite.
