AUTOMOTIVE MECHANICS AND DIESEL MECHANICS

Abstract

After graduation many people pursue becoming a mechanic. Most people want to become a

mechanic for either diesel-powered vehicles or automotive vehicles. In order for someone to

achieve the goal of becoming a diesel mechanic, they would have to go to college a minimum of

two years for an associate degree in diesel mechanics. If they decide to become an automotive

mechanic for your passenger, they could either do on-the-job training that most current

employers offer or they could do a two-year program at RCTC here in Rochester Minnesota for a

degree in automotive mechanics. The job as a mechanic would be that the mechanic involves

performing a thorough vehicle inspection and making sure that nothing is catastrophically

wrong with it while also checking for leaks of any kind. Then if something major is discovered

they would need the proper information to relay to the customer and the service advisor. If

nothing else is found, then they could begin on the work they came in for. After completing the

work, they would return the vehicle to the customer and have the service advisor finish it up with

the customer.
