My goal is to integrate my practical experience and abilities to improve the per
formance of a product or process, in order to enhance the features or competitiv e position of a product in the market place. Reducing the variation in the manuf acturing process is a required component to maintain America's competitive posit ion. Reducing variation in the production process will minimize waste and reduce costs. By applying the ingenuity and resourcefulness of American workers to the production process, and utilizing to the full potential modern machines and too ling I believe that American manufacturers can compete competitively on price an d quality with low wage suppliers AREAS OF SPECIALS SKILLS AND PROVEN EXPERIENCE Other areas of my experience include * Design for Manufacturability and Assembly, * Reducing variation in the production process * Cellular manufacturing * Set up reduction and simplification * Reducing work in process inventory. I have gained experience in these disciplines through, practical experience, per sonal study, and training. Because of my experience in both product design, and working in a job shop and high volume production operations. I have proven probl em-solving skills and a track record of improvements in quality, price, and perf ormance. In both product design and development or manufacturing process enginee ring. FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY I have had practical experience in all phases of manufacturing. This includes * Sales * Project management * Product design * Product and process development * Tool, gage, and fixture design * Purchasing * Machine building * CNC programming * And many manufacturing processes Computer skills Word, Excel, 2D and 3D CAD systems Pro-E(6yrs), Solidworks (4 ye ars), CNC programming (2 years) Gibbs Cam, Pro-E Mfg, Powershape, PowerMill. SPECIAL AWARDS I have received 3 patents * Method for deactivating and maintaining items in a deactivated state * Method and device for deactivating items and for maintaining such items in a deactivated state * Fluid over-flow/make-up air assembly for reprocessor EMPLOYMENT JLG Cleveland, Ohio 03/10 to Present Designers and builders of Lift trucks Manufacturing Designer I am responsible for upgrading and improving the performance, reliability and re peatability of welding and machining fixtures. Utilizing Pro-E models as a basis for the layout and design of fixtures. This is a contract position. ZIN TECHNOLOGIES Cleveland, Ohio 08/08 to 03/10 Designers and builders of Space flight hardware Designer My responsibilities include the design of components and assemblies that will be run in a test glove box on the International Space Station (ISS) to perform tes ts in Micro Gravity. The test that I was working on is intended to simulate and monitor the characteristics of a liquid coolant in a pressurized container in a micro gravity environment. All inputs and outputs on this equipment will be tigh tly controlled and will be monitored to insure safe operation of the test while on the space station. I worked on the physical configuration of the test tank an d the PIV system that will record the fluid flow paths. The measurement and the control of the pressure temperature and volume as well as the velocity of the li quid are crucial to this experiment. This piece of test equipment has been desig ned and built to NASA flight standards. SWAGELOK FALON 1 Highland Hgts, Ohio 03/08- to 08/08 Designers and builders of industrial Valves and Fittings Manufacturing Technician- Contract Worked to implement High Pressure coolant on existing twin turret CNC lathes. Th is project had been in process for over a year, I was able to gather information that was used to order two different systems in less than 1 month. I have also reverse engineered a number of tooling components that had not been previously d ocumented using Solidworks. I have also been given responsibility for 5 machines . I have been involved in the SOR process. This process is a critical function o f the manufacturing process to insure that parts are being manufactured to Swage lok standards and to fulfill customer requirements. Software; Smarteam, Control Database, OKUMA OSP-5000L-G CNC controls NORTH AMERICAN MANUFACTURING Cleveland, Ohio 12/07- to 03/08 Designers and builders of industrial guiding systems Designer - Contract Designed guides for tire industry. These are automated in process guides to main tain the alignment of strips of material as used high speed processing lines DCD TECHNOLOGIES Cleveland, Ohio 05/07- to 12/07 Designers and builders of Die cast dies. CAM Programmer Programmed vertical and horizontal milling machines to machine graphite electrod es and before and after heat-treated die inserts. Generated toolpaths from solid models Began implementation of high speed machining Software - Delcam PowerShape, and Delcam PowerMill STERIS CORPORATION Mentor, Ohio 00- 05 STERIS Corporation Manufacturers Medical sterilization equipment. Designer Sr I was assigned to the Advanced Engineering group. This group produces new produc t designs. Our group designed, built and tested three iterations of a new produc t in 5 years. The last revised iteration was designed detailed and built in six months. * I have been responsible for the design and analysis of Quick Connects for usa bility and manufacturability. * Initiated efforts to have vendors machine parts from solid models * Selected and justified selection of Gibbs cam * Learned to program parts from solid models and programmed parts to be machine d in house. * Selected and justified the purchase of a CNC Lathe * Inspected incoming prototype parts * Helped one of our job shops improve the performance of a machining operation * Reduced machining time from 45 minutes to 5 minutes * By switching from a manual lathe to a CNC vertical mill. * This process improvement also reduced rejected parts from 20% to less than 1% . * Developed an automated test procedure that gave very stable results and the r esults were not operator dependent. This test also utilized an automated data ac quisition system. Software - Word, Excel, ProE, Solidworks, Eplan 21, Gibbs Cam, ProE Mfg (Cam) My ProE experience and training includes; assemblies, surfacing, sheet metal, de tailing, and cnc programming, MODEL PATTERN Maple Hgts, Ohio 99-00 Manufacturer of Patterns for sand castings and Plastic injection molds.
