Introduction

Language is the heart of communication. It is the raiment of a train of thoughts, the only
direction to wisdom, a viaduct to unity, and the key to understand and to be understood.

“Language shapes the way we think, and determines what we can think about.” –
Benjamin Lee Whorf

Without language, all are incomprehensible. Consequently, to be able to give definition

to all creations, exploring the variety of human languages is necessary.

The study of language is called Linguistics. This is where every part of human language
is being analyzed (by linguists), from its structures to its compositions. Linguists also study how
a particular language is being used, and how it differs to others. They termed each certain
language based on the field where it is most used and where it is most appropriate. Some of these
are medical language, engineering language, science language, and academic language.

Academic Language, based on the name itself, is the language used academically.
Academic texts consist terms used by educators and learners. These academic texts are essays,
research papers, abstract, conference papers, journal articles, explications, and so much more.

For a clearer understanding, here are some examples of academic texts written by
Educators and students.
