In April 2009, Texas will ADULT IDENTIFICATION CARD begin issuing newly designed Driver Licenses (DL) and Identification Cards (ID). These identification documents will contain many advanced security features to combat counterfeiting, photo swapping, tampering and other types of fraud. New features inclusive of advanced printing techniques as well as a 2D barcode will be present in all DL and ID cards. CARD LAMINATE
The new design will continue
to provide all information necessary for identification and verification purposes, including the license holder’s demographics, photograph, and signature on the front of the card.
Texas’ new DL/ID cards are
valid for up to a 6 year period BACK OF DL/ID CARD UNDER 21 from the date of issuance. DRIVER LICENSE Minor (under 21) DL and ID cards will be presented in a vertical format. Validity periods on ID’s only for individuals 60 and over will have an indefinite expiration date.
