I – SUBJECT: ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR

CUSTOMER EFFECTS: - Oil pressure warning on instrument panel lit.

-Audible warning.

CAUSE: Defective oil sensor

ACTION: Replace the sensor and install an extension piece to the electrical wiring
harness.

III – METHOD

III – 1. Replacement of the oil sensor

– Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor harness.

– Remove the pressure sensor

– Check for the presence of oil between the sensor

connector and the wiring harness.

III – 1.1 Oil present

– Fit a new engine oil pressure sensor.

– Connect an adaptor (1) between oil pressure sensor

(2) and engine wiring harness (3).

– Retain the assembly with a clip (4).

Do not place any stress on the wiring harnesses or

the hot environment.

III – 1.2 Oil not present

– Fit a new engine oil pressure sensor.

– Reconnect the harness to the sensor.
