From the start of my school career, I’ve attended many schools.

From kindergarten to high

school, I’ve attended seven schools. Why have I attended so many schools? Well because I am
a military brat. My mom is now a retired Navy Chief and my dad is Active Duty Navy. I haven’t
lived or visited a different country but I’ve had the opportunity to live in different states and
converse with people from many different backgrounds and cultures. Before the start of my high
school years, I lived in Chesapeake, Virginia. I love and miss Virginia a lot because that is
where I grew up and lived my happiest moments. I miss the snow and the cold weather. Being
picked up and dropped off in California, the heater of America, was an eyeopener because I’ve
never been outside Virginia until now. Being in California currently is a thrill but I always tend to
hear the east coast breeze calling out to me again and again because that is my home no
matter where I go. In the beginning, moving was draining. I was sad that I had to leave my
home, to leave all my familiarity, but I’m constantly surrounded by people from all walks of life
and that’s what makes moving to so many places worth it. Because of my surroundings
people-wise, I'm always opened minded to learn about new cultures and explore the wonders of
diversity. My mindset is that way because I imagine a world where we are all equal. Not
worrying about what makes us different but what brings us together. I remember when I went to
my first live musical “Hamilton” it was an amazing experience that made me realize my passion,
Musical Theater. Watching hamilton was absolutely thrilling the emotion, the music, the diversity
of the cast. It was like the audience disappeared and it was only me and the music. Theater
really brings people together for a common goal and passion: to entertain others, to show others
your talents, and to express and embrace the togetherness of people as people not by race and
sexual orientation.
