    PERSONAL STATEMENT NAME Terrance O.Green RATE/RANK AG2/E-S SSN 423131087 From within the pillars of our naval leadership emanates a message of excellence and equality. Core values echo from the Department of the Navy Headquarters to the freedom decks of our naval vessels and, through their precepts, I strive to continue my professional and educational development in order to support the mission of the navy. The Seaman To Admiral-21 Program is the means by which my goals can become a reality. The reasons I am applying for the Seaman To Admiral-21 Program revolve around winning the global war on terrorism and my unwavering commitment to change. The global war on terrorism came full circle on September eleventh and constituted in my mind that we are a nation and Navy ‘at war. Since that time I have devoted myself toward acquiring a better understanding of our allies as well as our enemies. Therefore, I'd like to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations. This educational training would provide me with a broad foundation of knowledge about the international system and the important issues facing the world today. Although I have been continuously pursuing my degree on active duty, advancement preparedness, rigorous watch bill schedules and family goals present a constraint on my educationally focused goals. The Seaman To Admiral-21 Program would allow me to concentrate on my educational and professional development, while fulfilling the Navy’s objective to retain highlyymotivated individuals within the Navy-Marine Corps team. Applying for the Seaman To Admiral-21 Program would also fulfill my desire in becoming a Surface Warfare Officer. Our country’s military successes require a constant transformation of ideals, tactics, and methods in which we deploy our forces in combat. For me, there is no better avenue to engage in this feat than through the Surface Warfare Option. As a SWO, Iwill receive training on advanced weapons systems, engineering nuclear propulsion equipment and combat systems, which are branches of Naval war fighting I would take pleasure in working with for the remainder of my Naval career. Another aspect that appeals to me about the job of a SWO is the intense and rewarding experiences I will undertake as [ embark on my prospective ship. I will gain firsthand knowledge of how all of the shipboard departments work collectively to accomplish the Navy’s mission. Iam most excited and intrigued about becoming a SWO because it will afford me the opportunity to take command at sea, and my experiences as a SWO in leading people and managing resources will be valuable and beneficial to me throughout my life. Although achieving these goals require years of experience and preparation, [have always wanted a career as @ Surface Warfare Officer and the Seaman To Admiral-21 Program is the first step in this journey process to attain my goals.
