Arena Rostov

The Rostov Arena stadium was built on the left bank of the Don River. This name was
approved by popular vote. Initially the stadium was called "Levberdon Arena"
because the new building itself is located on the left bank of the Don River, but the
year 2015 came and it was decided to change the name of the stadium. Out of several
options there was one such as "Don Arena". More than 37 hectares were allocated for
the construction of the sports arena. The main pUrpose and idea of the construction is
to hold the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

CapAcity of the stadium is 45000 spectators. The stadium has a unique maximum
viewing angle of 32 degrees. It allows fans to watch what is happening on the field
from any angle.

The first test match at the arena was held on April 15, in the 26th round of the Russian
Football Premier League between FC Rostov and FC SKA-Khabarovsk (with a score
of 2-0). The official opening of the stadium took place on May 13, 2018.

The customer for the construction of the World Cup arena was the company Crocus
Group, which at the time also built the stadium in Kaliningrad. An interesting fact is
that the current contractor has never built an arena.
