Topic Housing for young people: key issues

Justification: (briefly explain the reasons for your choice of topic)

Young people leave home later than ever as they cannot afford paying for a mortgage
and expenses, which is a largely extended social issue in Spain.

Structure:
Introduction

Whilst housing is always a hot topic for debate, access to such a universal right seems
far from real for the youth. We want to highlight, in this speech, the key points on how
this translates into reality for thousands of people that cannot meet the mortgage
requirements to buy their first home.

Main points

Briefly, we are going to discuss the influence of several factor such as the causes of
the spike on the house tag and the legislation on the labour market that is detrimental
to the youth's interests.

Conclusion

Teenagers and those in their early twenties need to apply to rental schemes as they
cannot afford to spend such a big sum of money on a deposit as it is required with their
low income. Further state help and public housing could help dealing with the needs of
this population group.
