Highlight the factors responsible for all the women Indians Navy crew to carry out their
expeditions?

Introduction:

Women has a major role in the development of a society. Their achievements are remarkable in
various fields. One such achievement is sailing around the world in 254 days by all women crew in a
sail boat.

This is the project under which government of India undertook to empower women.

Training

Training was given to women to sail around the world in a sail boat. The crew of six army women were
selected based on their skills. They were given basic training in Mumbai at the Indian Naval waterman
ship training centre and also in Kochi.

The voyage started from Goa on 10th September 2017. It returned to Goa on 21st May 2018 after 254
days. They overcame all the challenges and completed the voyage.

Conclusion:

The conclusion of the voyage proved women empowerment. It showed women can do and achieve in
any field.

Moral: Women are the real architects of the Nation

The training started with courses on Navigation, communication and weather prediction. They sailed
on INSV Madhe to Mauritius and also to Cape Town. The trip was a tutorial for them to manage water,
food and even electricity. The six selected crew were captained by Commander Varthika Joshi and
mentored by Commander Dillip Donde.

Conclusion: The conclusion of the voyage proved empowerment. It showed women can do and
achieve in any field.

Moral: Women are the real architects of the Nation.
