There were a lot of jobs out there prior to the war. Seems like everyone had their hopes and dreams pointed in different
directions before the shit hit the fan. Some of those skills come in handy now that we’re all on our own.
First Responders
Old school heroes, first responders are the people you used to call when you got in trouble. Firemen, EMT’s
and Nurses were always there for you when you got sick and hurt. Now that the world has collapsed their
skills are in even higher demand.

*Optional New Speciality – FIRST RESPONDER: First responders are skilled at stabilizing critically injured people in order
to keep them alive until they can receive proper medical attention. Gives a +1 Modifier to stabilizing lethal critical wounds.
This can be chosen in lieu of Combat Medic for Firemen and EMT’s or Field Surgeon for EMT’s

Entertainment
Before the war we used to like to be entertained. Everyone dreamed of being rich and famous. Actors on
the big screen and small theatres. Musicians playing orchestras or rock bands. Artists who create new
masterworks in paint, steel or stone. Athletes who played their hearts out every weekend in front of
roaring crowds. Seems rather frivolous now.

Service Industry
A lot of jobs were just jobs…. You had one of those. The retail worker, waiter, office or factory worker all
had their comfortable lives interrupted by the war. There’s a good chance guy who was checking you out
at Tower Records is now huddling in the trench right next to you.

Professionals
Trained professionals went to school with a job in mind. Social Workers, Teachers, Engineers and Scientists.
When things went bad, nobody could escape the draft. Seems like everyone got sucked into boot camp at
the end, rumour has it the Captain was a high school math teacher.

The jobless
Not everyone had a job when the war broke out. Some people were just born lucky, others not so much.
The Idle Rich were born with silver spoons in their mouths, the ultimate in pampered rich kids who do
nothing but live off their trust fund. Their only skills are from the hobbies they enjoyed during their lives
of leisure. Homeless people are down on their luck but have learned the hard way how to survive. Slackers
are adults who lived in their mother’s basement, trolled AOL message boards, smoked pot, and played role
playing games with their friends on Saturday nights.
