“Mobile Therapy Clinic”

Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) or those with physical, mental, intellectual and sensory
impairments usually face disparities in accessing healthcare particularly preventive
health and wellness services that may improve their overall well-being.

The Covid-19 pandemic rendered many PWDs of the City of Ilagan incapable to obtain
the necessary treatment and rehabilitation that they need due to environmental and
mobility barriers. Many PWDs have pre-existing health conditions making them more
susceptible to contracting the virus and putting them at a greater risk of infection.
Community quarantine restrictions likewise cause disruptions to PWDs’ access to
support and therapy from service providers (clinical institutions and the government).
