School Law

Reflection
Spring 2019

School Law turned out to be one of my favorite classes. Dr. Blundell set up the class so I would
know what the expectations were every week. There were no surprises, which is very helpful to
someone juggling so much. While I read each chapter, I was required to outline the most
important and relevant information. This was very beneficial because there was a lot of reading,
and it helped me organize the text and my thoughts. I did not think I would be interested in
anything that had to do with law, but surprisingly, the cases were interesting, and I found myself
looking into a few of the cases further.
The way the class was set up, I was not just reading a textbook, but I was reflecting on what I
was reading. The questions were thought-provoking and allowed me to think more deeply about
the cases and the outcomes. The material was not difficult to comprehend, which is something I
feared when starting this course.
Having the knowledge of my rights as a teacher and understanding student rights is crucial. This
class really opened my eyes to all I did not know in terms of education and the law.
