Research Method/Design

The researchers implemented the descriptive correlational quantitative research to

which a survey was used. According to Hopkins (2008), descriptive correlational
quantitative research aims to determine the relationship between one thing (an independent
variable) and another (a dependent or outcome variable) in a population.

Sampling Technique
The researchers used Total Enumeration as the sampling technique for the use of
examining the entire population of the respondents that have a particular set of
characteristics. With the use of this procedure, the researchers would be able to eliminate
the risk of biased sample selection that would affect the research study. The researchers
used this sampling technique as the total population is of manageable size.

Participants
The respondents of the study were the whole population of the 1st year college
enrolled in BSA Olivarez College for the second semester of SY 2020-2021. They were
selected as the respondents due to the relationship between the effects and the factors that
influence the selection of the BSA Degree Program in HEIs. The participants gathered data
and held the research at Parañaque with a total of N = 24.

Research Instrument
In this study, the researchers made use of the Survey Questionnaire to collect,
aggregate, and analyze the responses of the BSA 1st year college. The questionnaires that
the researchers used are self–made. The data of this study were collected using a survey
through a questionnaire via google forms about Cost-benefit Analysis of the Effects of
COVID-19 Pandemic on the Factors That Influence the Selection of BSA Degree Program
in HEIs.

Statistical Treatment/s
The data of this study were collected and organized, tabulated, analyzed, and
treated statistically using percentage (%), weighted mean, standard deviation, and test of
hypothesis and were presented in tabular form for simple interpretation. The researchers
used a frequency method for the Statement of the Problem no. 1 to determine the
characteristics or demographic profile of the respondents according to their Age, Gender,
and their General Weighted Average. The Mean Method was used for the Statement of the
Problem no. 2 and 3 to determine whether the factors affect or influence the respondents
decision and the effects of the corona pandemic in choosing BSA as their degree program.
Mean implies average and it is the sum of a set of data divided by the number of data.
Mean could prove to be an effective tool when comparing different sets of data (Dudovskiy,
2011). The researchers used ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). ANOVA test is a way to find
out if survey or experiment results are significant. In other words, it would help to figure out
if it is needed to reject the null hypothesis or accept the null hypothesis (Anesthesiol, 2017).
It was used for Statement of the Problem no. 4 to find out if there’s a significant difference
between the assessed influence of the factors in choosing BSA as their degree program
when respondents are grouped according to profile variables. The Pearson correlation is
typically used for jointly normally distributed data (Schober, et al.2018). Pearson Correlation
was used in the Statement of Problem no. 5 to determine whether the effects of the corona
pandemic have a significant relationship between the Effects of the CoVid19 Pandemic and
the Factors That Influence the Selection of the BSA Degree Program in HEIs.
