I assume that not everyone was in the common room today when we spoke about our CAS
final project.

We will start our own charity and spread our work to a wider population.

The goal of this charity is to collect clothes, paired shoes, accessories, toys and books that
are clean and in good condition. And donate them to children and teens who are less
fortunate. We can contact organizations such as the SOS, ‫…دار االيتام‬etc..

I know that the cause you will be working on can be a big responsibility, however, there are
basic steps that you can follow to make sure you get started on the right foot.

1) Define your mission:

Before anything else, you need to figure out your reason for this mission. State your cause as
specifically as you can, and see if you can come up with unique ideas that make your mission
a little different than everyone else’s.

2) Pick a name for the charity:

Choosing a name is important. Make sure you select a name that is catchy and unique. It
also has to be easy to remember.

3) Create an Instagram page and a website specifically for your cause.

This is crucial as because social media is an important window to explain your cause and
get people excited about it. This serves as an online advocate for your mission

4) Get support from AIS community

This means that you need to prepare a presentation about your mission and deliver
it to students in all departments (PYP AND MYP). You should visit classrooms in the
morning assembly over an extended period of time to get as many donations as
possible.

5) And perhaps place a charity booth and donation boxes somewhere in the school.

6) Finally, this project needs lots of time. So we should start from now – May.
