History of Multimedia
The manufacturer determines whether a
microprocessor is 8, 16, 32, or 64 bit. Even today,
some manufacturers produce microprocessors
(and/or microcontrollers) with a variety of bit sizes,
including 8-bit products.
The bit is a basic unit of information in computing and digital communications. The
name is a portmanteau of binary digit.[1] The bit represents a logical state with one
of two possible values. One of the primary advantages of a 32-bit microcontroller
over an 8-bit microcontroller is its superior processing speed.
