USysa ‘ermmtrd 0) Baga, Gora Paes Gry ser HOST PROTOCOL India, Sea Taian Uk Sed USA sks apa na srsc nme saree [eS RS merrier tay A Host Computer may upload or download data to the USYS system. The ‘communication can be done either by a serial link (RS232) or an Ethernet LAN ‘connection. In the Ethernet link, the TCP/IP protocol is used to encapsulate the ZUMBACH ASCII protocol. The USYS will act as Server and will permit only one client connected, in this ‘case the ANSI protocol in Multi-drop mode is not allowed. 4.1 CHARACTER SET 41.2. COMMAND AND DATA FORMAT - ZUMBACH AS! 41.24 ASCII characters are used for data transmission except for the Wide-String fields. The Wide-String items are UNICODE strings encoded in UTF-8. The UTF-8 encoding has the advantage that the characters between 0x00 and Ox7F are equivalent with the ASCII ‘ones so that, if we do not need to use localized strings, the variables using the Wide String format can be directly encoded in plain ASCII Non-printable characters are shown by placing the name of the character between "<" and ">", The following non-printable characters are used in this manual: Character Function Decimal Hex Acknowledge 6 06 Horizontal Tab 9 09 Line Feed 10 OA Carriage return 13 oD Negative Acknowledge 21 15 Escape 27 18 Space 32 20 End of Transmission 4 04 End of Enquiry 5 05 Start of Text 2 02 End of Text 3 03 | PROTOCOL Single messages Data, device commands, and control signals transmitted between the Host and the USYS have the following format: Group - Number - Message - Termination Character. Example: 001.175 ‘The Group and Number fields are separated from the rest of the message with a space , Group Transmitted commands and data are divided into groups. Each group is designated with aletter. An upper case (capital) letter is used for a download sequence (Data aTa7 Fas Garay, USYSS ao ce Host PROTOCOL Setewara Bl 1.2.2 transmitted from the Host to the USYS). A lower case letter is used for an upload sequence (Data transmitted from the USYS to the Host) Number Each member of a group is designated with a number. The numbers range from 0000 to 9999, Suffix Codes ‘Some orders can extend the Number by a suffix. The suffix is a one or two digits number added at the end of the order number and separated by a *." Message The message may be a value, a string, a selection or a Multiple Selection. Value A value consists only of numbers (0...9), prefixes (+ -), and a decimal point. String Asstring is a series of characters. Any printable ASCII character is allowed. The maximum length of the string is the same as if the string were entered manually. Wide String AUNICODE string coded in UTF-8 Selection A selection from a list can be made by sending a number that corresponds to the position of the desired selection in the list. The first selection is 0. Multiple ‘A multiple selection is used when more than one option may be selected at one time. The selections are made by adding the values of the choices desired. Termination Character Data transmitted from the USYS to the Host is always terminated with a except for the and messages. Data transmitted from the Host to the USYS may be terminated with a or with simply a . Suffix Codes Some orders can extend the Number by a suffix. The suffix is one or two digits number added at the end of the order number and separated by the character *.”, The suffix codes have been introduced to facilitate the access to a group of related messages and extend the number of possible host codes. This makes much easier the communication with the USYS32 host protocol, and permits the extension of the codes range. The previous codes are kept for compatibility purposes, For example, the messages to upload the characteristic’s current values where 42000 for the first characteristic, 42500 for the second, 43000 for the third ... and so on. This restricted to 10 the maximum number of codes allowed. With the Suffix codes we can use 2000.1 to upload the first characteristic, d2000.2 the second, d2000.27 the characteristic number 27 ... etc. USysa “rzuMancn ‘ermmtrd 0) Baga, Gora Paes Gry Star HOST PROTOCOL India, Sea Taian Uk Sed USA sks apa na srsc nme saree When commands using Suffix do not include it, 1 is assumed. Suffix always starts at number 1 Suffix 0 is allowed, referring to all the allowed suffixes for this command. For example, ‘ona product with 4 characteristics a query of c2000 . 0 will receive the answer of four commands: ¢2000.1, c2000.2, <2000.3 and <2000.4. Range suffixes are also allowed, adding a second suffix to the command as the end of the range. On the example before, a query of <2000.1.3 will receive the answer of three commands: ¢2000.1, c2000.2 and c2000.3 ‘Changing one value using all or range suffixes will change the same value on all the implicated values. For example, C2100.1.2 5.30 will set the same nominal value for characteristics 1 and 2. 1.2.3 Grouped messages The grouped messages contain several values in the same telegram. The format is the same than the Single messages but the message part is composed of several values separated by the character (Horizontal TAB). Example: 5 -4327 . 5431430-0 . 005 1.2.4 Upload Used when the Host requires some information from the USYS. GROUP C - PRODUCT PARAMETERS 234 Using the group C messages you can change the set points and other measuring conditions of the USYS system. There are two working modes with this group, one for reading current activated product and other for modifying this product and any other from products table. Next command is used for switching between both modes. 0100 Product Working Mode Selection RW (00 Work with Product Active 01 Work with Working Area On active product mode, the default option, all parameters have only reading access, meaning downloads are not possible and write-only parameters are not allowed. Upload request will return the corresponding value to active product. The Product modification mode is used when a product is going to be modified or activated. This mode is explained on next item. Product modification The HOST product modification parameters work on a special working area, used as a temporary buffer. Before making any product operations, the Host must gain access to a product recipe placing it on the working area, either loading it from USYS local table, or making a copy of the active product After making the desired changes, the HOST can save the product again on USYS local table and/or activate it. Be aware that most of the changes will reset the current statistics When activated. When the modified product is saved into the local product database the active product will remain unchanged. In the case we do not want to introduce changes in an existing product, there is also a parameter to activate a product directly from the USYS product table. At the reception of a download parameter USYS will make a preliminary check of the received value concerning only to the message format, and answers with or . At the reception of the Activation message it will validate in deep all the messages received (for example checking the Tolerances coherence) and will send the answer to the HOST ( or ) At the reception of any HOST computer can ask for the type of the error by the means of the group E parameters. When activation parameters retums an error on download, and the error code on €1000 parameter is 203, it means that there are some validation problem on the product to activate. It is possible to know the exact problem using ¢1030 and ¢1035 parameters. 61000 Activate product - w (Activate the product previously open) 1010 Open Active Product - w (Make the product parameters visible from host) 61020 Open Product from Table Value w »00 Number of the table product to make visible from host aI Te ZOMGACH oo panies Sgn FG) alm, Che, Fare, Soran USYSS Than tay Sean Tawan Uc ane USk pagers fa semen emanen bears Host PROTOCOL 1025 1030 1040 1050 1055 Open Product from Table (by Name) Wide-String 2XKK..0XX_ (20 characters) Save Product to Table - (Save the product previously open) Activate Product from Table Value xxx Number of the product to activate Delete Product from Table Value xxx Number of the table product to make visible from host Delete Product from Table (by Name) Wide-String YOOX. .XXKXX_ (20 characters) 2.3.2.
