12 MARKS (6 + 6) OUT OF A TOTAL OF 40 MARKS

You can work on this question either in pairs or singly. On this question, you are required to:
select any two of the videos numbered 1-8 below, all of them mentioned in the PPTs already shared
with you and a. summarize their contents; b. add a brief note to each summary to show how the
video relates, if at all, to the main themes of the course: i.e. to language, pragmatics and cognition.
Your summaries, including the note at the end should ideally be between 250 to 450 words each.

Note: Should you select the four Mark Pagel videos, numbered 9 a-b-c-d, you should treat them as a
single unit and endeavor to make your summary plus comment between 450 and 650 words, given
that we already watched almost the whole of the first video in class. If you have any further queries
on this task, you can ask me for clarifications in the next class on 10-02-2022. Your answers will have
to be uploaded on Moodle during the actual exam, i.e., 40.00 – 5.00 pm on 14-02-2002.
