Technical Built at the beginning of sec. XIX.

The modernisation works started after 1900, when the quay, port platform for
storage, warehouses and administrative buildings have been built. Later, it was built
the railway, the silo and the quay cranes have been installed.

The port has a quay with a total length of 750 m .

It has a ramp dedicated to the handling of nonconventional cargo
The port has 250 m berths dedicated to the accomodation of passenger crafts
It also has commercial berths in a total length of 300 m equipped with quay cranes
5 tfx32m, port platform with a total surface of 31000 mp, warehouses and silos;

The minimum water depths in Oltenita port is 3 m.

About PLATINA

The NAIADES action plan is a Commission initative to enhance the use of inland navigation as part of
intermodal freight solutions, in order to create a sustainable, competitive and environmentally friendly
European wide transport network.

This objective was embraced by the inland navigation sector, who, together with the Commission have
created PLATINA, an FP7 project consisting of 23 partners from nine different countries, in order to
accelerate the achievement of the NAIADES aims. This multi-disciplinary knowledge network will allow
PLATINA to create the momentum necessary to achieve the NAIADES objectives. - For more info –
