Friendly Letters (Samples)

Dear Sam,
It’s been ages since I heard from you and I thought of dropping you a line to tell you my news. I’m very sorry for
being late in answering your letter but I’ve been busy studying and taking exams. Hopefully the exam period is over
and I did very well. How are you? I’m very well and hope you are well, too.

Do you remember our old friend Eva Jones? Well, she’s getting married next Sunday morning to a wealthy guy who I
met a fortnight ago. Lucky her! He’s a nice type of person and seems to like her a lot. Anyway, I’ll be going to her
wedding and hope to meet lots of our old friends there. I’ll write back and give you all the details. You have kisses and
greetings from my girlfriend Annabel and my parents, too. As for my news about the future, I’m going abroad for six
months, probably to sunny Greece for a holiday before going to London College to study mechanical engineering,
which is something I’ve always wanted to do.

I have to close my letter now as Annabel wants us to go shopping. Her birthday is at the end of the month and I want
to buy her something. Drop me a line to let me know how things are.

Love,
Peter

P.S.
Give my best wishes to your parents and a big hug to your sister Jane.
