3 Power supply check ( To be done for new service rack only )

3.1 Check the Power supply voltage

Before connecting the equipment check that the voltage is in the allowed operating ranges
The voltage must be measured between the phase and the neutral.

Phase Voltage Tolerance Ok

Phase 1 to neutral 122 120 V AC

(±20%)
Phase 2 to neutral 129 120 V AC
(±20%)
Neutral to Ground 1.5 0 V AC
(± 0.1 v)

3.2 Check jumper setting of the DCBCTRL

According to the size of the installed battery bank set the jumpers of the DCBCTRL boards
according to the following:

Capacity Ah 640 320 160 80 40 20 10 5 SUM Total

Jumper DCBCTRL 0
Jumper DCBCTRL 1

Also set the address for the DCBCTRL according to the installed position as follow:

Address Bit 0 Bit 1

ACDCP0 on off
ACDCP1 off on
factory setting off off

Task: DCBCTRL Confirmation

address setting
DCBCTRL 0
DCBCTRL 1

3.3 Switch on the power supply unit

Prior to switch on the RF boards, it is necessary to follow the correct procedure to insert
the batteries fuse and then switch on the AC boards. Please take
note that if all the AC parts are switched on at the same time, damages can occur on the
DCBCTRL and heat exchanger control boards. If the BTS is already powered skip this step.

Caution: All the operations are on potentially dangerous tensions!

Close the switches in the following order:

– BR11 + BR12. To energies the AC circuit
– BR 13 + BR14 To energies the DC circuit

It is now possible to switch on the boards by means of the relevant fuses at the fuse
panel at the right side of the shelter.

3.4 Check the output voltage from rectifier

Note: The output voltage from the rectifier is calibrated from factory and can not be adjusted.
Without load switch off the battery brakers and all the AC/DC except the unit under test. Check that
the voltage at DC voltage connector in the DCBCTRL are inside the allowed values. The output
voltage depends on temperature

AC/DC Voltage Tolerance Ok

AC/DC 0 54.4 -54.6 at 20 C (-40 to -56.7)

AC/DC 1 54.4 -54.6 at 20 C (-40 to -56.7)
AC/DC 2 54.4 -54.6 at 20 C (-40 to -56.7)
AC/DC 3 -54.6 at 20 C (-40 to -56.7)
AC/DC 4 -54.6 at 20 C (-40 to -56.7)
AC/DC 5 -54.6 at 20 C (-40 to -56.7)

3.5 Rectifier alarm checking

With all AC/DC working swith off one and check the rectifier module fault message in the LMT. After
that switch on the AC/DC and continue with the next one.

3.8 Temperature Sensor on battery tray test

Check the function of the temperature battery sensor of each installed bank by removing the
connector of the temp sensor cable at the AC/DC connecting panel ( T0, T1). Check in the LMT the
message AC power supply: Batt. temp sensor x fail.
Note: After this test wait 2 minutes until the rectifier return to normal operation before continuing with
the following tests, other messages as -48 voltage out of tolerance are normal under this test.

5.8 BTS Backup Files Generation for HW database

In order to reconfigure a BTS in case of loosing all configuration data after a COBA
replacement a backup copy should generated and stored on site.
During the installation of the LMT software a directory named BKBTS\BTSPLUS was
created as a subdirectory of LMT, containing all files necessary to perform the
backup procedure.

Creating Backup Script Files

Start the Command Line Interface (CLI).
- Choose “Open CL interface” in the “CL interface” menu of the LMT Input Handler
Choose “Open” in the “File” menu or click on the “Open” button of the symbol bar at the
CLI
- Open the file BK_BTSEP.LMT, located in the BKBTS directory ( PAY ATTENTION
TO THE NAME THAT END WITH A "P")
- Submit the commands of the script file by clicking on the “cmd” button or choosing
“Command -> Submit” from the menu bar.
The script will produce 6 files in the BKBTS\BTSPLUS directory:
GETRACKP.TXT GETCOSAP.TXT GETBPORP.TXT GETSETP.TXT
GETCRNAP.TXT GETCRAP.TXT
Producing backup copies of the BTSE configuration.
Converting of GET responses into CREATE or SET commands will be done by a
small DOS batch file:
- Run the program TRANSP.BAT ( PAY ATTENTION TO THE NAME THAT END
WITH A "P")
The TXT files are converted into 6 script files named
SCRIPT1P.LMT SCRIPT2P.LMT SCRIPT3P.LMT SCRIPT4P.LMT SCRIPT5P.LMT

7 Alarms

7.1 Alarms BS 241

Each Shelter is equipped with ACTC that supplies 9 ENVAs. In the Base Shelter
optionally the ACTM can be installed that supplies 48 additional ENVAs. In case of
not installed ACTM the alarms for the Base Shelter are the same as for the other
Shelters. The operator Alarms are assigned to text messages.
The alarms for "FAN" and "Rack Door open" are created automatically during the
creation of FAN and SET RACK.
The BS 241 provides 16 rack / shelter alarms as inputs at the ACTC connector .15 rack /
shelter alarms are assigned to fixed text messages .The µW alarm 1 – 9 is routed parallel .
Some rack / shelter alarms are also available at the WAGO-block ( Rack 0 – 7 ) .The BB0-2
alarm is routed serial . Not used SIS , RDO , BB0-2 and OVPT alarms are jumpered with 2-
pin connectors .
The alarms can be configured as high active or low active. If they are low active, the
appropriate pins have to be closed by a short circuit to start the alarm message. If
they are high active, the appropriate pins have to be opened to start the alarm
message.
2 shelter alarms that are cabled internally for service rack 1.
The alarms 5 and 6 of service rack containing AC/DC must be set with the levels and
suggested text as indicated below.
