Get Yourself Ready For Meditation
Get Yourself Ready For Meditation
Creating the right energy for your practice is essential. Why do we have a specific space
where we study, or have dinner with the family? Even going to the gym or working out at
home has its own space?
Your own space can be very simple, and you don’t have to convert your entire house or a
room to have it!
With a little fine tuning, you can create the right peaceful environment for your practice.
INTENTION IS EVERYTHING
Everything starts with intention. It’s at the core of your being as it comes from within.
Your space can be anywhere as long there is nobody else that needs your direct or
immediate attention.
That doesn’t mean that you need to find a space that is completely soundproof. Meditation
is about bringing your mind inwards.
Laying down on the floor, sitting in a chair or sitting in the lotus position is all ok. Any
position that works for you, as long you feel comfortable and stay AWAKE.
MUDRA
Connect your index finger with your thumb. This hand posting (Gyan Mudra) is to connect
with your Higher Self.
MEDITATION EXTRAS
Have a journal close by and write any messages or experiences that come to you
during or after the meditation.
When you start to write, your whole practice becomes more tangible and
measurable.
Have a little blanket nearby in case you want to lay down on the floor or stay warm.
Don’t catch a cold.
Light two candles before you meditate -using matches is preferred.
Flowers are always nice to add a beautiful energy while meditating.
Keep hydrated. Have a bottle of water with you and drink before or after meditating.
Of course, not having these things doesn’t mean that you cannot mediate. You don’t need
to have all the props depending on your situation.
Let’s say you want to meditate during your lunch break. You can always find a nice quiet
spot to connect with yourself and bring your mind inwards.
