Describe a time when you had to deal with being in a

team with people you don’t get on with.

When I was a sophomore, I joined an English Competition in Da

Nang Region. It was fortunate that I was entitled to the top 30
best contestants of the Da Nang region. At that time, To step
into the next round 30 contestants were divided into 10 groups,
each group was 3 people, it is unavoidable that I had to work
with other 2 contesters from different schools to perform the
project related to providing the ideas to create useful devices/
apps applied into real life.
Our group includes Nhi, Linh, and me, They are students of
economics university. Honestly, at that time the time was
limited, we only had a week to complete our project and then
presented them to judges. So We had to set up the time to have a
meeting together, discuss the topic, and then split the tasks for
each person. But When I called them to have a discussion, they
just said “ Sorry, can we change another day, because right now
I am extremely occupied with my schedules and deadlines in
school”. This answer made me angry so much. The reason that
made my blood boil, was the lack of their responsibility in
teamwork. I hate someone who ignores the tasks given.
Without giving up, I tried my best to persuade them to go to a
coffee shop to discuss the topic in the contest and pointed out a
lack of responsibility in teamwork directly. My personality is
quite opposite from them, I am a kind of talkative person and
straightforward. So that no matter my words let them down or
not, I am not afraid of indicating their weaknesses.
Eventually, thanks to my persuasion and enthusiasm, my group
completed the project and received the incentive award in the
English competition.
