Topic: Potential Destination (Tetulia River)

Introduction of the destination

The tourist spot we are going to discuss is located at Bauphal Upazila of Patuakhali District in
the division of Barisal. Mainly I am going to talk about a river which name is Tetulia and a local
park where you can find a large collection of plants and birds. About thousands of fruit plants
are available here. All these initiatives have been taken by local people here.

Destinations description

Tourism is a rising industry in our country. Though our country is full of natural resources but
due to the lack of knowledge we still cannot use our resources properly.We can see our country
is crossed by many rivers and wetlands bt due to ignorance and improper use we are losing
them day by day. That is why I want to highlight the natural beauty of the river “Tetulia”.This
river bank is so calm and serene. Fisherman lives here. You will enjoy their simple lifestyle,
warm hospitality and a peaceful environment here. You can also have a boat tour and get fresh
fish, enjoy natural views and many more. A perfect spot to relax. Here fisher man makes their
own boat and fishing net. People will also enjoy local fruits such and sweet coconut
water,Mangoes, Bananas and many more.
Potentiality of the spot

People of all ages will enjoy this place. Tourist can make day out plan, camping, picnic with
family and friends. Since its not a commercial place everything is so cheap here.

Transportation

There is also a good system of transportation here. Distance from Patuakhali city to Bauphal is
around 38 kilometres. Tourist can enjoy e direct bus ride or they can enjoy the journey with
launch.

Present issues regarding the spot

But accommodation is the major problem. There are lack of hotel or restaurant..As it is not a
commercial tourist spot, safety is major concern. And The biggest problem is the local people
are not aware of tourist industry. They do not have idea about tourist industry. Government
should take initiative to give proper education and training to the local people. Also government
should take step to prevent the security.
