Note:
The compressor is centrifugal-type
Suction compressor is governed by gas turbine speed rotation via PT set at 290 psig. Average discharge pressure is 850 psig. The compressor is
capable to produce discharge pressure up to 1100 psig without surge. Capacity at 290 psig suction and 850 psig discharge is 250 MMscfd.
Gas feed to separator maximum up to 300 MMscfd
MAWP cooler is 1000 psig.

1. Please determine / draw
ANSI class and spec break on that system and draw on that P&ID
Determine the setting of PCV, PSHH and all 3 PSVs.
If at discharge compressor, a PSHH will be installed, what do you think the proper setting should be?
How to determine MAWP on suction scrubber?
What is the basic design for all 3 PSVs and how to determine the individual capacity?

2. If capacity of the compressor will be increased, what should I do & what checking should be done for the entire of the system?

3. If, for some reason, the setting of suction pressure will be reduced to 200 psig without re-stagging the impeller of the
compressor - to accommodate declining in gas well reservoir pressure, what checking I should do as well?

CRUDE OIL TANK

Please indicate spec break on the above system!

If operation wants to do maintenance on MP Separator so it has to be isolated, there is a plan to flow crude oil direct to LP separator
(from HP separator). As a Facility/Process Engineer, what you should do to ensure the operation is safe?

1. Refer to the above drawing. Suppose operation is facing high water content problem on the gas export (that to be delivered to
the buyer). What check and how to do it for individual equipment on dehydration unit above?
2. On the gas side, what immediate action that should be done to reduce water content of export gas while you are conducting
troubleshooting?

Centrifugal Pumps

If you have 2 identical centrifugal pumps with capacity of 10,000 bpd, what is total
flowrate you will get when operated in parallel mode? And Why?

If you have 2 identical centrifugal pumps, can be running in series and parallel, what is
the total flow result compare to each other?

What is the advantage and disadvantage operating pump in above type?

HYSYS

Given 2 commingle pipelines dimension with different size but same length and same
destination point and same gas composition. You have a task to calculate individual flow
through the pipeline. How do you do it in hysys?

How to ensure, in general, a hysys simulation running is accepted?
