Statement of the problem:

This study aims to assess the performance of the Brgy. Officials in Brgy. Suso,
Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur.
Specifically ought to answer the following problems:

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of;

a. Age
b. Sex
c. Civil Status
d. Occupation
e. Highest Educational Attainment
f. Monthly Family Income
g. Religion
h. Membership to NGO
i. Access to the different sources of information
j. Biological relationship with a barangay official/s

2. What is the level of awareness of the respondents of the three (3) functions of the
Brgy. Officials?
a. Administrative functions
b. Legislative functions
c. Adjudicatory functions

3. What is the level of performance of the Brgy. Officials as regards to section 17

(Basic Services and Facilities) of the Local Government Code?
a. Agricultural support services;
b. Health and social welfare services;
c. Services and facilities related to general hygiene and sanitation,
beautification, and solid waste collection;
d. Maintenance of barangay roads and bridges and water supply systems;
e. Maintenance of katarungang pambarangay;
f. Infrastructure facilities;
g. Information and reading center; and
h. Satellite or public market.

4. Is there a significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and their
level of awareness regarding the three functions of the Brgy. Officials?

5. Is there a significant relationship between the respondents’ level of awareness of

the functions of the Brgy. Officials and the level of performance of the Brgy. Officials
as regard basic services and facilities?
