Identify the prepositional phrases, adding details, and similes.
1. Analyze a tex
a. Prepositional phrases
- We should always respect nature and learn where our food comes from.
- We sat a few feet away from my father’s special crabs traps
- The beach was quiet and still at six o’clock
- Fragrant fish in the trap

b. Adding details
- Smell : The fishy smeel made the crabs hungry, so they crawled into the traps
- We watched : We watched the crabs walk into the traps, and I smelled the
strong of the dark, oily fish.
- We heard the sounds : We heard the sounds of seagulls and pelicans in the sky
- We sat : We sat on the sand surrounded by crab shells and watched the sun go
down into the ocean.
c. Similes
- The traps were made of bamboo, and they looked like round cages

2. Make a general comment about the essay


a. The beach was quiet because at six o’clock, the tide had just come in and nice
view
b. He is very happy because he just ate the food directly at his place, and it tastes
better.

- The fishy smell made the crabs hungry, so they crawled into the traps

d. Food tastes best when it is something that you have caught or grown yourself. I
have eaten crab many times since then, but it has never tasted as good as it did that
day.
