What picture do you get of the nature of the Spanish Empire from reading the source?

How
does it agree or disagree with your existing knowledge of the topic and the lecture?

Based on the provided excerpt and course materials, the Spanish Empire loathes the customs of the
Aztec’s and their rituals. It was stated from page 4 of the provided text that the Aztecs had “the
most abominable custom which truly ought to be punished”. This assertion leads me to conclude
that the religious morals of the Spanish have a different perspective on what the value human life
holds. They assume that because of the rampant sacrifices that the Aztecs must not hold human life
dear. The nature and attitude of the Spanish is that they are rescuing the ignorant Aztecs from their
sinful ways by conquering their land, abolishing their customs, and converting them to Christianity.
