Candace started with our Department on August 1, 2020 as a Support Services Administrator. I worked with Candace on a daily basis until she transitioned from our Department in July 2021 to her current role with Modoc High School. Candace provided immediate support to the Director and Deputy Director of Social Services, carrying out tasks that were demanding, time sensitive, confidential, and many times, affected a multitude of people. Candace came to our Department with limited knowledge about Social Services but with a mindset eager to Jearn. Although stressful, Candace worked through the learning curve by communicating effectively, not being afraid to ask questions and maintaining a positive attitude. Candace was an important part of our Department, helping critically think through and contribute to many organizational improvement efforts. Her eagerness to learn and contribute to our Departmental Team helped everyone become better around her. When I think of a High School Counselor, | believe it should be someone who can provide unconditional support to all students while they face the many forks in the road of their education and life.
