DATA PRESENTATION

The first step in statistical analysis is to present data in an

easy way to be understood. It is a way by which researchers
organize, summarize and communicate information.

The three basic ways for data presentation are:

1. Textual
2. Tabular
3. Visual – Graphs and Diagrams
TEXTUAL PRESENTATION
In statement form. This helps to supplement explanations
or descriptions of the findings/results of the study as
reflected in the tables and graphs.

Commonly, it is placed at the bottom of each table and

graph. It involves enumerating important description
of facts, significant figures and interpretation of data.
EXAMPLE

As reflected on the table, the monthly income of the

families situated in Barangay X, ranges from P25,000
to P41,000.
Among the 3 families identified in Barangay X, Family
C was observed to have the highest monthly income,
then Family B while Family A is the lowest.

As reflected on the line graph, out of 70 expected

attendees in the workshop only 67(maximum
participants) were reach, on the last day.

There was a decreasing number of attendees

observed on the first 3 days, before it goes up to 67
on the last 2 days.
TABULAR PRESENTATION
A systematic way of presenting data in rows and columns

This method simplifies complex data, facilitates

comparison of results, gives identity to data and reveals
pattern in the result which cannot be seen in the textual
form.
POINTERS IN MAKING A TABLE
It must be self-explanatory.
The Title must be written at the top of table to define precisely the
content, the place and the time.
There should be a clear heading of the columns and rows and units of
measurements
The size of the table depends on the number of classes. Usually lie
between 2 and 10 rows or classes.
Its selection depends on the form of data and the requirement of the distribution. Too small may obscure
some information and too long will not differ from raw data.
TYPES OF TABLES

It describes only ONE(1) characteristics of the data

It relates to 3 characteristics of the data

It relates to TWO(2) characteristics of the data

TYPES OF TABLES

It relates to more than 3 characteristics of the data
