With black cotton thread, embroider a cross on the linen portion of the door, then embroider short lines to create the door handle and hinges. Sew door between mds 43 and 56 of house. Window Make 2. Rnd 1: With linen, form a slip ring, work 8 sc in ring, pull tail to close, join. (8 sc) Rad 2: Ch 1, sc inc in each st to end, join. (16 sc) Rnd 3: Ch 1, (sc in next st, sc inc in next st) 5 times, changing to cappuccino in last sc, sc in rem 6 sc, join, Fasten off linen. (15 linen sc, 6 cappuccino sc) Row 4: Sc in first 15 sts, leave rem sts unworked. (15 sc) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. With black cotton thread, embroider a cross on the linen portion of each window. Sew windows on either side of door between rds 36 and 45 of house. Finishing Using meadow, embroider stems as desired on both sides of door. Using salmon, embroider French knots (see illustration) at the top of each stem for the flowers. © p° French Knot
